Golf Courses Near Greenville, NC
Greenville, located in the heart of North Carolina’s Coastal Plain and home to East Carolina University Pirates, is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. You can find some hidden treasure by making a tee time at Greenville’s golf courses. Bradford Creek Public Golf Course is a municipally-owned player-friendly layout where wide open fairways wind around a few ponds and streams in a rural setting. The facility also boasts a lighted driving range. Ayden Golf & Country Club, which provides a somewhat tougher challenge thanks to its fairways lined by whispering pines, is a good place to score a hot deal. About 20 miles out of town, Cypress Landing Golf Club showcases views of the Pamlico River and rates as one of Golf Advisors top courses in North Carolina.
Greenville is situated on the Tar River, which provides opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The city has a nice park system and a very pleasing greenway walking path along the Tar River. Above all, Greenville is a college town. Much of the city’s cultural life is centered on the campus. Downtown has an array of bars and music venues that draw a young crowd. Popular events include a farmers market, downtown street parties, and rallies for the ECU football team. One of ECU’s long-standing superstitions is that any student who walks under the Cupola on the campus mall will not graduate in four years. No worries as long as a round of golf finishes in four hours.
