Golf Courses Near Meridian, MS

With plenty of history, culture and recreational opportunities, Meridian is a small city with much to offer. Located near the Alabama border in southeast Mississippi, this is a city that has spawned quite a few famous people, including Jimmie Rodgers, known as the father of country music, and David Ruffin, one of the best known members of the soul group, The Temptations. Fittingly, Meridian has a museum that honors so many who have excelled in the arts, culinary, cultural and visual arts. Mississippi’s Arts and Entertainment Experience, known as The MAX, has honored the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Morgan Freeman, John Grisham, William Faulkner, just to name a few. In addition Meridian is the home to a Civil War trail as well as Civil Rights trail. There’s also 1889 Grand Opera House, Mississippi Industrial Heritage Center, and Bonita Lakes Park, which has three lakes for fishing exploring and hiking. Meridian is also a good area for golfers to find tee times with several private and public golf courses, including Northwood and Briarwood Country Clubs as well as municipal Lakeview Golf Course.
