Golf Courses Near Hattiesburg, MS
Located about 90 miles southeast of Jackson, Hattiesburg is a college town with all sorts of things to do and see. The city, which is the home of the University of Southern Mississippi, has a zoo, military museums, a great children’s museum, art galleries, hiking and biking trails, live music and live college sports. There are also annual festivals as well as the Paul B. Johnson State Park, the Lake Thoreau Environmental Center and the Hattiesburg Saenger Theater. There are also plenty of terrific local restaurants and some breweries, including Southern Prohibition Brewery and Colludium Brewing Co. It’s also a good area for golf with several courses offering tee times to the public. One of the finest is Timberton Golf Course, a 7,100-yard layout designed by Mark McCumber. Shadow Ridge Golf Club and Pine Ridge in nearby Purvis are other good 18-hole choices open to the public.
