In Ottawa Lake, an unincorporated community in Monroe County, visitors can check out Bennett’s Orchard or Gust Brothers Pumpkin Farm. Or better yet, they can bring their golf clubs. The options are many. Whiteford Valley Golf Club is a popular 27-hole facility located in Ottawa Lake. Designed by R.E. Hodges, it opened in 1969. Another Ottawa Lake option for public tee times is The Legacy Golf Club, designed by Michigan’s very own Arthur Hills. Cherrywood and Quarry Ridge are nine-hole courses, while Sand Wedge Golf Club is a sub-6,000-yard par 70 course located right in Ottawa Lake. Ten miles east in Temperance is another highly regarded Hills facility that’s open to the public, Giant Oak Golf Club, which has both an 18-hole and a par-3 course.
