Golf Courses Near Monroe, MI

One of the most historic cities in Michigan, Monroe has evolved into a bustling community with plenty of things to do. The childhood home of Gen. George Custer was also the site of the River Raisin Battle during the War of 1812, still the largest conflict ever fought in the Wolverine State. Now Monroe is the headquarters of La-Z-Boy. With the historic River Raisin running West to East into Lake Erie, the city also plays host to the River Raisin Jazz Festival each Augusta, attracting more than 40,000 music lovers eachyear. Monroe and Monroe County are also golf hubs, with more courses than any other county in Michigan. Almost all of them — more than two dozen — are also open to the public. They are led by 18-hole venues like Sandy Creek Golf Course, Carrington Golf Club, Green Meadows Golf Club and The Links at Lake Erie, a fun Scott Tacker design that plays to 6,700 yards.
