Golf Courses Near Marquette, MI
From hiking, biking, fishing and just enjoying the shorelines of inland lakes and Lake Superior, Marquette is an outdoors paradise, especially in the summer. In the winter, visitors can even see the Northern Lights on occasion, but summer is where Marquette shines for visitors, especially golfers. In particular, Marquette, which also has quaint eateries and brewpubs in town, offers one of Michigan’s best venues, the semi-private Marquette Golf Club, which has two outstanding layouts. The one most talked about is Mike DeVries-designed Greywalls Course, carved out of rock outcroppings and hills with elevated views of Lake Superior. Marquette GC’s other layout, the Heritage Course, is a 1926 William Langford-David Gill parkland gem that opened in 1926. Other places that public golfers can get tee times include the Northern Michigan University Course as well as the nine-hole Gentz’s Homestead Course.
