Golf Courses Near Macomb, MI
Founded by German farmers in the early 1800s, Macomb Township is a thriving Detroit area suburb with plenty to do and see. With some 80,000 residents, the community has much to offer, including a performing arts center, a luxury movie theater, plenty of eateries (including Michigan’s own National Coney Island) and some very enjoyable parks. There are also plenty of golf courses, especially on the public side. The choices within Macomb include the par-73 Hickory Hollow, Cracklewood Golf Club and 27-hole Sycamore Hills. The last two were both designed by the family team of Jerry Matthews and nephew Bruce Matthews III. Macomb also has a very well-kept private club, Burning Tree Golf & Country Club, which opened in 1958 and was designed by Lou Powers.
