Golf Courses Near Clarkston, MI
For such a small community, the Village of Clarkston has a lot going for it. With fewer than a thousand residents, Clarkston is a hub for concerts, parades and festivals. Its quaint downtown has been designated a historical landmark. And together with the area of Independence Township surrounding it, it’s a pretty good spot for good to really good golf courses. Among Clarkston’s best known are probably Shepherd’s Hollow and Pine Knob golf clubs, both with 27 holes and offering tee times to the public. Shepherd’s Hollow was designed by Michigan’s own Arthur Hills, while Pine Knob was crafted by Don Pohl. Both courses are favorites among locals and visitors alike. The Fountains is another popular public course is Clarkston, and there are some private gems, too, like Oakhurst Golf Club, another Hills design that opened in 1998.
