One of Maine’s most popular tourist attractions, York is a small coast city with historic lighthouses, buildings, plenty of great local eateries and lots to do outdoors. The state’s second oldest city, with a population of around 12,000 people, also has beautiful beaches as well as mountain trails for hiking and biking. It’s home to the famous Stonewall Kitchen, where you can get all kinds of products and even take a cooking class. Or you can visit the the John Hancock Wharf and Warehouse, which was actually owned by the famous Hancock himself. The Granite State Growler Trail also comes through York, which has three craft breweries. York is also a pretty good spot for golfers to find tee times with several private and public courses in the area. One of the best is The Ledges Golf Club, which plays nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees.
