Golf Courses Near Bardstown, KY
If you’re looking to combine a bourbon tour with golf, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better destination than Bardstown, a town of around 12,000 people located 35 miles south of the Louisville airport. Bardstown has more than 10 distilleries located within 16 miles of its town square, most of them, like Willett Distillery, offering production tours, tastings and retail sales. It’s just part of what makes Bardstown, once named the “Most Beautiful Small Town in America” by Rand McNally and USA Today, so appealing. With 300 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places — including a 1779 stagecoach stop still in use today as a tavern, restaurant and bed and breakfast — Bardstown is a site to behold. The golf here is also stellar, with plenty of golf courses in and around Bardstown offering tee times. Among the most popular public courses is is Kenny Rapier Golf Course at My Old Kentucky Home State Park. The most challenging course in Bardstown, however, is Bardstown Country Club’s Maywood Course, which plays more than 7,200 yards and is open to the public.
