Golf Courses Near Evansville, IN
The center of the Tri-State area of Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, Evansville is a city that has two major universities and offers plenty of recreation, museums and other fun things to do. The city of just under 120,000 residents is also known as the River City because of its proximity to the Ohio River. That’s where you will find the USS LST 325 war ship memorial, where visitors can tour this restored World War II ship, and its one of several museums that also include a children’s museum and the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science. Evansville also has a zoo, casino and a minor league baseball ballpark that’s been around since 1915. There are also plenty of places in Evansville and the surrounding areas where golfers can get tee times. A couple of historic municipal courses — John F. Fendrich which opened in 1945, and Helfrich Hills, a 1923 Tom Bendelow design — lead the way.
