Golf Courses Near Nampa, ID
Part of the greater Nampa-Boise metropolitan area, Nampa is city with a big-name entertainment venue, lots local restaurants, wineries and a few museums. The city, which has close to 110,000 people, is home to the Ford Idaho Center, which has a capacity of more than 17,000 seats and plays host to some of the biggest names in rock and pop music as well as the being the arena for one of the largest rodeos in the country. Nampa also has several museums, which include the Warhawk Air Museum, which celebrates aviation from the world wars, Korean and Vietnam wars as well as the Cold War. Lake Lowell is a popular recreation spot for fishing, hiking and biking. Once named “Main Street America,” in a campaign more than 60 years ago, Nampa gives off a small town charm that includes plenty of local eateries, pubs and now more than a few wineries in the area. Among the most popular are Vizcaya Winery and Sawtooth Winery, where visitors can sample and buy some of the best wines in the region. The golf in the area is pretty good, too, with several private and public golf courses offering tee times. Among the best public venues are Centennial Golf Course, an excellent Robert L. Baldock design, and Ridgecrest Golf Course, which has both an 18-hole championship and executive nine-hole course.
