Golf Courses Near Honolulu, HI
Known for its world class surfing, beaches, great nightlife and tropical weather, Honolulu is the gateway to the Pacific and paradise. This city, the metro area of which is more than 800,000 residents, is the state’s capital and largest city. Famous sites include Waikiki Beach, which is great fo surfing, swimming and just hanging out. Across from Waikiki is the famous Diamond Head dormant volcano, and both are visible from the many hotels in Honolulu. Those are just two must-sees, as is Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial as well as the Polynesian Cultural Center, where visitors can learn of Hawaii’s long and colorful culture and history. The city also has a great zoo, the Magic Island lagoon near downtown, and the country’s largest outdoor shopping center, the Ala Moana Mall. Of course, conditions for golf don’t get any better than they are in Hawaii, and Honolulu has plenty of golf courses offering tee times. Some of the most popular open to the public include Ko’Olina Golf Club, a fun Ted Robinson layout that has hosted both the PGA Tour Champions and LPGA Tour. Other great public courses on the island around Honolulu include Ewa Beach Golf Club and Royal Kunia Country Club. A little farther away, but well worth the drive on the famous North Shore is Turtle Bay Resort and its two golf courses.
