Crystal Coast Country Club

Laid out on the island of Rogue Banks in Pine Knoll Shores, Crystal Coast Country Club is a semi-private facility that's undergone massive improvements the last few years. Formerly known as Pine Knoll Shores Country Club, the club survived a hurricane in 2018, then was purchased by new owners who renovated the course, the clubhouse, maintenance facility, pool and tennis center. Pickleball and exercise facilities were also added. Improvements to the golf course include new tee boxes, fairways, greens, bunkers, cart paths and bridges. The golf course now has Celebration Bermuda grass on the tee boxes, 419 Tifway Bermuda grass in the fairways, and Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass on the greens . Crystal Coast Country Club also got new practice facilities in 2021. The par-70 layout, which first opened in 1971 and was designed by Maurice Brackett, features some of the best views in the area. The course has four sets of tees, playing from 4816 yards to 6,005 yards. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 464-yard par-5 fourth. Despite the lack of length, the dogleg left hole plays difficult because water runs down the entire left side and slightly in front of the green. Water comes into play on roughly half course's holes, such as the short par-3 15th, which has a green surrounded by water on three sides. The course has a well-stocked golf shop in the clubhouse, plus a restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner. Crystal Coast Country Club is also a popular site for weddings.
