Oak Brook Golf Club

With a nice variety of holes, water features and smooth, undulating greens, Oak Brook Golf Club offers a parkland course that's both challenging and fun for all levels of players. This par 72, which maxes out at 6,541 yards, was designed by Roger Packard and Dennis Wise. Opened in 1982, this municipal course, which does offer membership plans, has four sets of tees. There are several lakes and ponds on the course with two of them coming into play between the fourth and fifth holes. The fourth is a sharp dogleg left. The farther a golfer hits the tee shot, the more the second lake can come into play, but the shorter the approach shot is. Get it beyond the second lake on the left, and the approach shot isn't over water. The fifth is almost a mirror of the fourth hole, going the other way. Water also comes into play on the pa-4 sixth, a dogleg right water water on the left on the approach. Oak Brook Golf Club has a nice finishing stretch, which includes the difficult 214-yard, par-3 17th, which also plays over water. In addition to the golf course, Oak Brook also has a driving range, short-game area, and practice putting green. Golfers can take lessons with the professional staff. Oak Brook also has a golf shop with the latest in apparel and accessories. And inside the clubhouse there is a dining room as well as patio for daily dining and refreshments.
