Neepawa Golf & Country Club in the small town of Neepawa, Manitoba which calls itself the  Lily Capital of the World  is one of the gems of Western Manitoba golf. Located about 50 miles northeast of Brandon, the course, which debuted as a 9-hole layout in 1944 but has been a full 18 since 2000, has appeared on Golf Advisors list of the Top Courses in Canada. Situated along the escarpment of the winding Whitemud River, Neepawa Golf & Country Club spreads out in a valley that is laden with trees and rolling hills. The up-and-down nature of the playing field produces elevation changes that are uncommon for a Manitoba golf course. A couple of elevated tees perched on ridges showcase fabulous vistas. When you have a tee time here you ll see a mix of holes lined by mature trees and others that play in a more wide open setting. Lots of blooming flowers, including lilies, adorn every tee box and other areas of the meticulously manicured Neepawa Golf & Country Club's grounds. With its three different tee decks, the course can be played at 5,273 yards, 6,183 yards, and 6,538 yards. The distinctive feature of Neepawa Golf & Country Club is the Whitemud River that runs across or alongside thirteen holes on the course. Staying out of the water is a key to scoring, but the noticeable elevation changes always surprising in the prairie region of Manitoba complicate that task. At times the elevation changes lead to blind shots. The other distinctive feature of Neepawa Golf & Country Club is its undulating greens. Getting the ball in the hole can be an intriguing adventure on the fast, tricky putting surfaces. Though walking is allowed here, the tee time rate includes a cart. The layout isn't easy on walkers and you ll be in for a workout if you opt to take on Neepawa Golf & Country Club on foot. Practice facilities include a driving range, short game area with a sand bunker, and a putting green. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch fare. Neepawa Golf & Country Club s patio, the perfect spot for a post-round bite and beverage, showcases a fabulous view of the course. When the club is busy the snack shack out on the course also opens.
