Cedarhill Golf and Country Club
56 Cedarhill Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K2R 1C5Cedarhill Golf and Country Club winds through one of the most distinguished residential communities in Ottawa, Ontario. Located within the city limits about 15 miles southwest of the downtown core of Canada s capital, Cedarhill has been one of Ottawa s most popular country clubs ever since it opened back in 1964. Though the club has an active, older membership, it welcomes public tee times. When you play at this traditional club you will be treated to a well-conditioned, fun layout that is lined by million-dollar homes. Three teeing decks provide distance options ranging from 5,135 yards from the forward markers, 5,964 from the middle tees, and 6,316 yards from the back. Each nine on this predominantly flat, par-70 track features two par 3s, six par 4s, and one par 5. Cedarhill Golf and Country Club is a more formidable test than the scorecard may suggest. The par 3s are all quite long. No. 15, the second of the back-to-back par 3s on the back nine, is a 238-yard-long brute that even from the forward markers extends to a full 200 yards. Most players find that the chief challenge at Cedarhill Golf and Country Club comes from keeping the ball in play. The picturesque playing field is tight and tree-lined with small greens. Cedarhill Golf and Country Club s tough front nine is very narrow, while the back nine plays somewhat easier as the fairways are more generous. Beware that stray balls can hit a ritzy home. Only one water hazard impacts play on the par-4 16th hole you must hit over a pond on the approach shot into the green. Cedarhill Golf and Country Club s greens are not dramatic. You may feel like you can sink a putt or two here. Players of all skill levels find the challenge manageable and keep the club perpetually busy. It can be hard to get a tee time all throughout the season. That means there are always a lot of golfers on the grounds, but Cedarhill Golf and Country Club s friendly marshals help keep groups moving at a reasonable pace. Cedarhill Golf & Country Club doesn t set an official end-of-season date, but each year the club strives to stay open at least through the end of October. If you want to warm up before your round, the club s practice facilities are limited to a hitting net and a large putting green. The clubhouse features a well-stocked pro shop and the Player s Lounge restaurant which has indoor seating as well as a comfortable patio that is a favorite spot when the weather is nice. If you want to play one of Ottawa s finest and most popular clubs, Cedarhill Golf and Country Club should be at the top of your list. Just don t hesitate tee time slots always fill up fast.
