According to Hawaii history the Navy built a course in 1898 first in Hawaii, no sand on course. Semi-private. Navy-Marine Golf …. Ko Olina Resort in Hawaii: on Oahu. However it also states the first golf course in Hawaii was built on the island of Molokai in 1938, called Ironwood Hills Golf Club. So there can be two answers to todays question.

Is the below info not true???
“The first golf course in Hawaii was built on the island of Molokai in 1938, called Ironwood Hills Golf Club. It was not only the first but the only one on the island for nearly 40 years. Built to provide some recreation for the pineapple plantation’s Scottish workers, it took only 3 months and until today retains a somewhat Scottish flare to it; a straightforward mountain course with no ponds and few doglegs.”

Thanks for the month or two I have been playing, it has been fun. I climbed as high as possible in the list considering my name is “Jay.” Unfortunately it eats up too much of my day. I have certainly learned a thing or two about golf trivia.
That said, for your information, the answer choices are not showing up on the webiste. I can see the video and the comment block, but no answer choices. Good luck. I will continue to use your service any time I am booking tee times.

We wanted to wait until today’s show ran but, yes, we also found the source claiming that Ironwood Hills was the first course in Hawaii. BUT … given that the Manoa Cup is the oldest tournament in Hawaii and it began in 1907 - 31 years after the Manoa Cup began - we had to go back and re-research that. That’s when we discovered the information on the Moanalua Golf Club which was built in 1898 and is stated to be the oldest course in Hawaii. We’re not sure how Ironwood can make that claim, but they do.
