September 22, 2008

It’s Monday, September the 22nd, I’m Keri Murphy and it’s time to kick off another week here on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.

Hi, everyone, Keri Murphy back with you on GolfNow’s trivia contest. Our featured GolfNow course for today is the Experience at Koele on the island of Lanai – another course in our network where you can save when you book online with us at www.golfnow.com – the #1 tee time website in the nation.

Okay, let’s just get right to our first trivia question for the week, which is:

Which one of these golfers has NOT won the PGA’s Payne Stewart Award? Is it:

A. Jack Nicklaus
B. Tiger Woods
C. Gary Player or
D. Byron Nelson

As always, just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and tomorrow, we’ll tell you who hasn’t won the very special award from the PGA – at least, not yet - and, if your answer was correct, then there will be one more entry in our computer with your name on it for our daily drawings.

Okay, now, let’s find out the answer to our final Ryder Cup trivia question from last Friday’s show, which was:

Which golfer has played in the most Ryder Cup Matches? = C. Nick Faldo

While Billy Casper holds the record for having played the most matches for Team USA with 37, Nick Faldo is hands down the winner for most Ryder Cup matches on either side of the pond with a total of 46. Faldo, in fact, holds the overall record in a number of different categories including Most Ryder Cup appearances – 11, Most Points Won – 25, Most Foursome Matches – 18, Most Four Ball Matches – 17 and Most Matches Won with 23 along with being at, or near, the top in many other categories and tied with some of his American adversaries in a few others. All of that experience will certainly be valuable to him as he makes his first appearance as captain of Team Europe this year, which should help make this year’s matches even more exciting as Europe tries to hold on to the cup for the fourth consecutive time.

So, if you answered C – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our prize today is an Odyssey White Hot Tour Putter. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

And our winner today is Jeff Axelrod of Los Angeles, California and now, Jeff, to claim your prize, just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.

Okay, that is it for our first show of the week. In case you didn’t know, today is the first day of Autumn but there is still some wonderful golf weather ahead and when it’s time to book your next tee time, then be sure to come see us at www.GolfNow.com and save up to 70%. Thanks for watching our show today, I’m Keri Murphy and I’ll see you again tomorrow here on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.
