It’s Monday, October 6th and we’re giving away a Cobra hybrid - today on Golf Now’s Trivia Contest.
Hi everyone, Keri Murphy back with you on this Monday for a brand new week here on GolfNow’s trivia contest. Our featured course for today is the Trilogy Golf Club at Glen Ivy in Corona, California – another course in our GolfNow network where you can save when you book online with us at www.GolfNow.com - the #1 tee time website in the nation.
Okay, a few weeks ago we talked about Al Geiberger being the first male golfer to shoot 59 during a round, but what about the ladies? So, with that in mind, our question for today is:
Who was the first female golfer to break 60 in the LPGA? Was it:
A. Annika Sorenstam
B. Se Ri Pak
C. Juli Inkster
D. Karrie Webb
Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and on tomorrow’s show, we’ll tell you who it was and we’ll see if your answer was correct and earned you another entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Now, let’s find out the answer to our question from last Friday’s show, which was:
Which country formed the first golf club outside of the United Kingdom?
Ships sailing from the UK into Charleston, South Carolina were known to occasionally carry shipments of golf balls and clubs for delivery. One record shows that 96 clubs and 432 balls were shipped from the port at Leith to Charleston, South Carolina in 1743 and that is where the first golf club to be formed outside of England and Scotland was located when the South Carolina Golf Club was created in 1786, although their wasn’t an official golf course that the club played on. The Club played golf on a public space called Harleston Green, which wasn’t an actual course – as some people claim – but it was enough that Golf magazine has listed it as the nation’s first golf club and Charleston has been called the birthplace of golf in America.
So, if you answered D - then you were right and you’ve added one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings where you can win great golf prizes and our prize today is a Cobra Baffler DWS hybrid. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our winner today is David Ellington of Joplin, Missouri. Congratulations, David, you’ve just won a Cobra hybrid and now, to claim this prize, all you have to do is send me an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.
Okay, that wraps our show for today. The cooler temperatures make getting out on the golf course in the middle of the week even better right now so why not book a tee time with us right now at www.GolfNow.com and save. I’m Keri Murphy, have a great Monday and I’ll see you again tomorrow here on GolfNow.com.
