The ‘Tin Cup’ was filmed at TUBAC Golf Resort south of Tucson, Arizona….in fact the lake in front of Par 5 # 16 was built to accomodate Roy McEroy’s second shots in the lake….movie made you think you were in Texas, but it was Arizona….

Sorry Dave Wells, but you are wrong about ‘Tin Cup.’ Much of the golf in the movie was shot in the Houston area. Specifically, the famous 12 over the water was filmed on hole #4 of the Deerwood Country Club. Deerwood is part of the Clubs of Kingwood. Kingwood was north of Houston when the movie was filmed, but is part of the Houston area now; annexation. My long time swing coach was head pro at the Clubs of Kingwood during filming and appears several times in the movie. For instance, he’s the first guy to shake Kevin’s hand after the “record-setting U.S. Open round”.

Some of the ‘Tin Cup’ movie was definitely filmed in Tubac. The bar scenes and some of the golf course. There is even a plague on hole #16 stating this fact. It is a lovely course and great movie!
