There should be a time limit to respond. Once you log on a person should respond by the time the clip ends. If a person views the clip or a portion thereof and then looks up the answer and logs back on to respond they should be blocked from answering.

Dana Clyde - If you don’t like how the game is played - don’t play. I grow sick of you complainers about how this trivia game is managed.

Is there a possiblity of two correct answers for this question…seems like this may be the case?

Amen, Danny! If you are unhappy at all with the FREE contest, do everyone a favor and don’t play!

I have never won, & more that likely never will. yes i’m a cheater. i look up the answers. i make no apology for my action. i’m 55 yrs old, i treat this Trivia Game as a learning tool for my golf education. besides my chances of winning are as good as winning the powerball. Beside it’s free to play. more money for the cart girl. relax, it’s a game. who ever came up with golfnow, thanks.

This week’s round of questions on the rules is a great way to get us to read the Rules of Golf and maybe learn a few of the rules with which most golfers, especially males, can’t be bothered.

Hey Dana…
You sound like the kind of guy I hope never to be paired up with on a course.

Early birdie gets the worm!?

Dana there is a time limit it is the day the show airs!!! I believe this is what would also be refered to as an open book test. I would find it hard to believe that any one would no the answer without a little time and thought. Is it really cheating to look up the answer in the USGA rules book? Do the pros not ask for rulings all the time so as to be within the rules and not be penalized? loosen up and have some fun!! It is only a game!!!

Well -
I’m pretty amused by those who imagine that people are going to know this stuff without looking it up. Much of this is so arcane and specific that almost no one will know this all off the top of their head.
Today’s question - who would know that worms are “Loose Impediments” and can be moved, not me!
I agree with Gloria that this is a learning experience - I really enjoyed looking up information on some historic golfers that I would not have known about otherwise. I like the sense of continuity that brings.

I totally agree with Dana but I think you should also have to write a 500 word essay expanding on the answer, you should also have to prove that you are an amature in good standing with the USGA. It would also be good limiting the number of people answering the questions to those that have 5 hcp or less, and if you win you must play 18 hole of golf the next day and break 80 on a course with a slope of 135 or more. Dana if you are free come by for dinner!

Hey Dana, I bet you’d complain if they hung you with a new rope. Get over yourself and have some fun!! This trivia game is a great learning tool. It’s a free game for crying out loud! Just being able to watch Keri do her thing everyday is prize enough for me.

I have learned a lot about the rules this week. I was too lazy to remove the flag on a tap in par. My ball hit the flag as it dropped in. I should have been penalized. Thank you Golfnow!! I will ALWAYS remove the flag.

I looked up most of the question on rules, but how the heck are you guys looking up the answers to all those other questions? Google knows this stuff? Anyway, I say my odds are still good to win a prize even if i have to wait ’till Keri is 21.

You know Dana, I have an even better idea. How about we block all the people that complain about the trivia game, then you would not have to worry about the time limit issue again. I can not believe you posted such a ridiculous idea. Life is too short to be so doggone serious.

Jeezuz, could anyone imagine being paired up in a foursome with Dana and Richard from yesterday???

Hey does anyone remember why we play this game of golf or even this trivia game for that matter?FOR THE FUN OF THE GAME! I have always looked at golf as a metaphor of life.Throughout the day you may have ups and downs, but it is how you deal with them with what you have to work with to get the best results. In a perfect world we would all be so lucky to learn from our mistakes and never make them again, never have to worry about cheating, and build some character in the process.Hey Dana,do you know how much a flag stick weighs?…probably not, because it seems you are too worried about the things you do not have control of rather then the things you can control. If you are at all curious about the weight of a flag stick then stop being such a stickler and pick one up sometime it will give you a good idea. This GAME is about honor and when you realize that you will also realize it is just a GAME.For those who are lucky enough to get payed for playing this great GAME(let alone be able to play it period)realize it is after all just a GAME! To my knowledge the P.G.A. Tour has donated more money then any and all sporting organizations combined(how about that for a little honor)! I am sure in large part because of the worlds number one rated golfer…anyone know who that is? This is a trivia GAME is it not?

Next time you spend a week asking about the rules of golf, how about just giving a situation and asking for the proper resolution rather than the NUMBER of the rule that applies. I have never even wondered what number rule applies when I am out playing. I am very concerned, however, with knowing and following the rules as I play and posting as fair and accurate a score as is possible.
