October 10, 2008
It’s Friday, October 10th and we’re giving away a Bag Boy travel cover - today on Golf Now’s Trivia Contest.
Hey there, everyone, and welcome back for our final trivia question for this week here on GolfNow.com. I’m Keri Murphy and our featured course for today is the Siena Golf Club in Las Vegas, which is just one more course in our GolfNow network where you can save when you book online with us here at www.GolfNow.com.
A few weeks ago we talked about a time when Ken Green jumped into a canal to save his dog from an alligator. Well, another pro golfer also made a dive into some water under even more serious circumstances and so, with that in mind, our question for today is:
Which golfer once saved two people from a sinking car while playing in a tournament? Was it:
A. Mark O’Meara
B. Sandy Lyle
C. Shaun Micheel
D. Duffy Waldorf
Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and, on Monday’s show, we’ll tell you the whole story and we’ll see if your answer was correct and earned you another entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Now, let’s find out the answer to our trivia question from yesterday’s show, which was:
Who was the first golfer to play in both the Walker Cup and the Ryder Cup?
Nine different golfers that played in this year’s Ryder Cup had also previously played in the Walker Cup as amateurs, including Justin Rose, Padraig Harrington, Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim. While that’s not so unusual these days, that certainly wasn’t the case back in the days when the worlds between being an amateur golfer and a professional were very different. So, when Fred Haas played in his first Ryder Cup in 1953, he became the first golfer to play in both events, after having also played on the 1938 Walker Cup team before turning professional in 1946.
So, if you answered A - then you were right and you’ve added one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings where you can win great golf prizes and our prize today is a Bag Boy Hard Top/Soft Side travel cover. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our winner today is Linda Long of Richardson, Texas. Congratulations, Linda, and now to claim this prize, all you have to do is send me an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.
Okay, that wraps up another week here on our trivia contest. Thanks so much to everyone who played this week and congratulations to all of our winners. I’m Keri Murphy, have a great weekend everyone and I’ll see you back again next week for more fun golf trivia and great golf prizes here on GolfNow.com – the #1 tee time website in the nation!
