November 13, 2008

It’s Thursday, November 13th, I’m Keri Murphy and you might be our winner - today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.

Hi, everyone and welcome back to another edition of GolfNow’s trivia contest. Our featured GolfNow course today is the Kahili Golf Course on the island of Maui in Hawaii – just one more course that makes up our nationwide network where you can save when you book your tee times here with us at www.golfnow.com.

Okay, all this week we’ve been asking questions about some of the 2008 Inductees into the World Golf Hall of Fame and so, let’s find out what our trivia question is for today:

Bob Charles was the first left-handed golfer to win which major championship? Was it:

A. The Masters

B. The U.S. Open

C. The British Open or

D. The PGA Championship

Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and on Monday, we’ll tell you which major it was and if your answer was correct, then there will be one more entry with your name on it for our daily drawings.

Okay, now let’s find out the answer to our World Golf Hall of Fame trivia question from yesterday’s show, which was:

Who was the next golfer to have consecutive victories at the PGA Championship after Denny Shute?

Denny Shute was born in 1904 and had 15 victories on the PGA Tour along with being a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team three times. He began his career in West Virginia where he won the 1923 and 1935 West Virginia Amateurs but is best remembered for his three major victories. He was just the second American to win the British Open, which he won in a playoff against fellow 2008 Inductee Craig Wood in 1933 and then in 1936 and 37, he had consecutive victories at the PGA Championship – a record he held until Tiger Woods won in 1999 and 2000.

So, if you answered A – then you were right and you’ve added another new entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our prize today is another World Golf Hall of Fame prize package along with a dozen personalized Titleist Pro-V1’s. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

And our Big Prize winner is Mike Vercher of Mandeville, Louisiana. Congratulations, Mike, and now, to claim these big prizes, all you have to do is to send an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.

Okay, that’s it for our show today. You can still save on a weekend tee time by booking online with us right here at www.GolfNow.com so why not see how much you can save today here at the #1 tee time website in the nation. I’m Keri Murphy, have a great day and I’ll see you again tomorrow on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.
