November 11, 2008
It’s Tuesday, November 11th and we’re giving away a World Golf Hall of Fame prize package – today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.
Hi, everyone, and welcome back to GolfNow’s trivia contest on this Tuesday. Our featured course today is Grande Pines Golf Club in Orlando – one more course in our GolfNow network where you can save when you book your tee times online with us right here at www.golfnow.com.
Okay, all this week, we’re going to be asking questions about some of the newest members of the WGHoF, who were all inducted last night at World Golf Village in Florida and, so, let’s see wwho our question is on today:
Which one of these countries does NOT have a golf course designed by Pete Dye? Is it:
A. Turkey
B. Switzerland
C. Brazil
D. Scotland
Mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and, on tomorrow’s show, we’ll tell you which country doesn’t have a Pete Dye course and, if your answer was correct, then you’ll add one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Okay, now, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s show, which was:
Which magazine published the first articles on golf by Herbert Warren Wind?
He was called the poet laureate of golf and Herbert Warren Wind’s 14 books, along with numerous essays and articles, certainly contain the evidence for that title. Probably best known for coining the term, Amen Corner, to describe the 11th, 12th and 13th holes at Augusta National in an article for Sports Illustrated in 1958, he first began writing about golf for the New Yorker in 1947. Wind died in 2005 at the age of 88? and is inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in the Lifetime Achievement category.
So, if you answered B – then you were right, and now have another entry in our computer and prize today is another World Golf Hall of Fame prize package, along with a dozen personalized Titleist Pro-V1’s. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our winner today is Lisa Winkleman of Lewisville, Texas and now, to claim this prize, Lisa, just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.
When you’re ready to save up to 70% on your next tee time, then be sure to book online with us here at www.GolfNow.com. I’m Keri Murphy, thanks for watching and I’ll see you again tomorrow on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest. Have a great day, everyone.
