November 10, 2008

It’s Monday, November 10th – I’m Keri Murphy and you might be our first winner of the week - today on GolfNow’s trivia contest.

Hi, everyone, welcome back to a brand new week here on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest. Our featured GolfNow network course for today is the Big Island Country Club in Hawaii and you can find great tee time deals at this course- and more than 1,000 courses in over 20 states - when you book online with us at www.golfnow.com – the #1 tee time website in the nation.

The World Golf Hall of Fame’s 2008 Induction Ceremony takes place tonight at 6pm Eastern Time at World Golf Village in Florida, and we thought that, in honor of this new group of inductees, we would have a special theme week with questions about some of the newest Hall of Fame members and so, with that in mind, our question for today is:

Which magazine published the first articles on golf by Herbert Warren Wind? Was it:

A. Sports Illustrated

B. The New Yorker

C. The Golfer

D. LIFE

As always, just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and tomorrow, we’ll tell you which magazine it was and, if your answer was correct, then you’ll have one more entry in our computer with your name on it for our daily drawings. Okay, now, let’s find out the answer to our question from last Friday’s show, which was:

Which of these golfers has played in the Wendy’s 3 Tour Challenge the most times? Is it:

The Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge began in 1992 and features three teams of the top three players from the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour and the Champions Tour playing against each other in a one-day stroke play match which raises money for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The PGA Tour teams have the most wins over the history of the event with 7, followed by the Senior Tour with 5 and the LPGA Teams have four wins. Julie Inkster has played for the LPGA team the most times with 6 appearances and Jack Nicklaus and Hale Irwin have both played 7 times each on the Champions Tour team so that leaves Fred Couples as the player who has played in this event the most times with 8 appearances on the PGA Tour’s team.

So, if you answered A - then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and all this week we’ll be giving away a World Golf Hall of Fame prize package, along with a dozen personalized Titleist Pro-V1’s. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

And our winner today is Arturo Garza of Laredo, Texas and Arturo to claim this hall of fame prize package, just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.

Okay, that’s it for our first show of the week. If it’s not too cold for you to get out and play some golf this week, then why not book your tee times online here at www.GolfNow.com and see just how much you can save? I’m Keri Murphy, have a great Monday everyone and I’ll see you again tomorrow here on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.
