Which golf course in Ireland has a hole named after a movie starring Robert Mitchum?
David Lean made his name as one of the great directors in Hollywood with films such as Bridge on the River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Zhivago. At Christmas time in 1970, his latest epic arrived in theaters- a World War I drama set in Ireland starring Robert Mitchum and Sarah Miles.
The film was shot in beautiful southwest Ireland and some scenes were shot on the beach of the current location of the Tralee Golf Club, which was designed by Arnold Palmer, and it is there that you’ll find the hole named after the film - the par 4-17th hole – Ryan’s Daughter.
