Needless to say but I’ll disagree with the most expensive course being built in N.J. However prices are surely going through the roof today for land and golf courses.

I still think California has the most expensive course built
Donald Trump says his new course in Rancho Palos Verdes will be the best in the state. After spending more than $260 million rebuilding the site that was sunk by a landslide, it would be wise not to bet against him
The 18th hole alone cost $61 million to build, making it, as Trump likes to say, “the most expensive chunk of golf real estate on the planet.”
Pete Dye built a good golf course, but what we’ve done is build a great course,” Trump said. “This really has nothing to do with Ocean Trails. It’s completely new. We ripped down that course and built a new one. We used much of the routing they had but it’s wider, nearly 1,000 yards longer and everything is new, from the tees and fairways to the traps and the sand. It’s the first Donald J. Trump signature golf course. I couldn’t have asked a designer to do this, because they would never have asked any client for as much money as this has taken

In answer to todays anwered question, why wasn’t Trump National in California at over $200 million the correct answer for the most expensive golf course built in the U.S?
May 19th, 2008 at 3:54 am
Need to cry foul for the answer to Friday’s question about most expensive course built in U.S. The Trump National Golf Club in Los Angelos advertises its cost at $260 million. That almost doubles the cost of the Liberty course. Please recheck your information.

Concerning last Friday’s question, “which is the most expensive course built?”, this is posted on the internet:
“Trump National Golf Course is perched high above the jagged California cliffs taking advantage of one of the most incredible views in the world from every hole. Noted as the most expensive golf course ever built, over $250 million dollars has been spent to ensure its prominence.”
Doesn’t that beat $130,000,000?

For whatever reason I can not get Keri’s this morning ….only the question ….so I do not know the playerss’ names ….help !!

Iam sure you are getting a few comments this morning concerning the most expensive golf course ever built! From the information I have attached from their website, Trump National appears to trump the New Jersey cost $150m.
“Trump National Golf Course is perched high above the jagged California cliffs taking advantage of one of the most incredible views in the world from every hole. over $250 million dollars has been spent to ensure its prominence. Gleaming white sand lines the walls of the massive bunkers, expansive lakes protect tucked away greens, and magnificent waterfalls cascade down at Trump National. The Donald J. Trump Signature Design course design tempts golfers to take risks and rewards well-placed shots. The layout challenges experienced golfers and novices to the best of their abilities. Trump National truly stands as a testament to the greatness of golf.”

I believe the question has another answer and can be found on the internet-where Trump National cost is $250 million.
Trump National Golf Club - Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, 90275 - CitysearchNoted as the most expensive golf course ever built, over $250 million dollars has been spent to ensure its prominence. Gleaming white sand lines the walls …

Our answer for last Friday’s question came from numerous sources that listed Liberty National as the most expensive course ever built. We will certainly investigate and correct the answers if we were wrong.
May 19th, 2008 at 8:43 am
Regarding last Friday’s question:
Back in 2006, Liberty National Golf Course was the
World’s Most Expensive Golf Course
“Nov. 5 - Take a tour of the most expensive golf course ever built. Liberty National is the dream of Reebok CEO, Paul Fireman, who is bankrolling the $140 million project.”
According to updated information, “Trump National Golf Course is perched high above the jagged California cliffs taking advantage of one of the most incredible views in the world from every hole. Noted as the most expensive golf course ever built, over $250 million dollars has been spent to ensure its prominence. Gleaming white sand lines the walls of the massive bunkers, expansive lakes protect tucked away greens, and magnificent waterfalls cascade down”
$ 250 Million in a more current report “trumps” $ 140 Million making California over New Jersey the right answer.
May 19th, 2008 at 10:46 am
For last Friday’s question the answer should be California - Trump National Golf Course, $250 million.
May 19th, 2008 at 11:53 am
You know how Trump is…has to have “the most” expensive…whatever. I agree with the other posts that his LA course at $260M far surpasses any other.

Gotta cry BS on this question

How is it that an entire crack research team there at GolfNow, can’t seem to get these questions and answers right? Is there even a crack research team involved in finding questions and correct answers here, or is the research team just on crack?

Trump National is a reconstruction and renovation of the old Ocean Trails Golf Course.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
In response to Trump National is a reconstruction and renovation of the old Ocean Trails Golf Course. This would still add to the cost and make it the most expensive course ever built. It is regarded by multiple sources as “the most expensive course ever built”. None the less, the questions answer should be in california- The trump national. Whether it was reconstruction or renovation on an old golf course, it was built, as was the other course was built, but that was on a chemical dump site.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
I have to agree with everyone else, Trump trumped all with over 200 mil. I saw your source and it was good 2 years ago… but now you gotta give it up to Trump.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Hi Y’all,
It’s a game, only a game….quitcha complainin! There is grey area as Trump revamped, regardless the cost. Just score either answer as right.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
liberty national can’t hold a candle to the wad the Donald is blowing on Trump National. The man spent 1/3 the cost of Liberty on fixing up just ONE hole. This one is a no brainer, the correct answer was clearly California.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
I believe GN got this one right. The only one who says Trump spent more is Trump. It seems odd that everyone is quoting the same exact source (1) with a contrary answer. Keep up the good work GN

Just to change the subject, today is the second time that GolfNow TV has misspelled Seve Ballesteros’ last name…
May 19th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
I think you really have to call both answers right or throw out the question all together. It’s pretty obvious that multiple sources call the Trump course the most expensive ever built, even if it was a renovation. The question was not clear even though someone posted a request for clarification.
May 19th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
I also have to chime in, there are several sources claiming Trump’s National course has cost many dollars more than the N.J. Course or any other course built, and this is not a West Coast is better than the east coast thing, more likely a Trump wanting to spend more than anyone else thing (course I’d like to have this trouble).

MGM’s Exclusive Shadow Creek Golf Club - the information about the course lists the golf course as “Shadow Creek is the brainchild of Las Vegas hotel and casino czar Steve Wynn. He describes his 2.7 billion dollar course as “the only one I’ve ever signed my name to.” I was going to choose Trump’s course until I found the paragraph above.
