It’s BIG PRIZE WEDNESDAY and you might be our winner - today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.
Hi, everyone, Keri Murphy here with another edition of GolfNow’s trivia contest. Our featured GolfNow network course for today is Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock, Virginia outside of Richmond - and you can find great tee time deals for this course when you book online with us at www.golfnow.com- the #1 tee time website in the country.
Okay, you might remember that we talked about the Legend Golf Resort in South Africa a little while ago as the course where you can win one million dollars if you ace their 19th hole. One other interesting thing about this course is that each of the standard 18 holes on the course was designed by a different professional golfer and so, with that in mind, our question for today is:
Which of these golfers did NOT design a hole at Legend Golf Resort in South Africa? Is it:
A. Trevor Immelman
B. K.J. Choi
C. Padraig Harrington
D. Jack Nicklaus
Just go to the entry form at GolfNow.com to submit your answer and tomorrow, we’ll tell you who didn’t design a hole at Legend Golf Resort and, if your answer was correct, then you will add one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Okay, now let’s find out the answer to our trivia question from yesterday’s show, which was:
Which famous gangster was once shot in both legs when a gun went off in his golf bag?
The original Scarface - Al Capone – often played golf several times a week, mostly at Burnham Woods Golf Course on the south-side of Chicago. Dressed in grey plus-fours and a monogrammed white silk shirt, he would play in money games for up to $500 a hole with his men, known to many as Banjo Eyes, Machine Gun, Three-Fingered and, most appropriately – Golf Bag. One day while out on the course – according to Capone’s former caddy – a gun that was in his golf bag went off and the bullet went through Capone’s right leg and into his left one but, after just a week in the hospital, he was back out on the course. It is also rumored that the guns and police uniforms used by Capone’s men in the St. Valentine’s Day massacre are buried somewhere on the grounds at Burnham Woods and if you ever happen to visit the course where Scarface used to play, then you can save on your tee times because Burnham Woods just happens to be a GolfNow course.
So, if you answered B - then you were right and you’ve added another entry into our computer for our daily drawings which include our weekly Big Prize drawings and our Big Prize Wednesday prize today is a TaylorMade Burner driver. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our winner is Neil Jones of Princeton, Texas. Congratulations, Neil, you’ve just won a TaylorMade Burner driver from Golf Digest’s 2008 Hot List and to claim your prize, all you have to do is to send an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.
