It’s Monday, July 7th and you might win a NIKE Slingshot cart golf bag - today on GolfNow’s trivia contest.
Hi, everyone, Keri Murphy back again for our first show of the week here on GolfNow.com. Our featured course for today is Twin Warriors Golf Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico - and just like all the courses in our network - you can save when you book your tee times online with us at www.golfnow.com.
Slow play is one of the most frustrating things you can encounter on the golf course, especially when you’re stuck behind a slow group and so, with that in mind, our question for today is:
What golfer would sometimes lie down on the fairway and pretend to go to sleep to protest slow players ahead of him? Was it:
A. John Huston
B. Lanny Wadkins
C. Moe Norman or
D. Cary Middlecoff
Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and tomorrow, we’ll tell you who it was and, if your answer is correct, then there will be one more entry in our computer with your name on it for our daily drawings.
Okay, now, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s show, which was:
What member of the WGHoF released an album in the 1970’s featuring songs by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Joni Mitchell? Was it:
Tony Jacklin celebrates his 64th birthday today and was responsible for bringing a bright spark back to British and European golf in the late 60’s and early 70’s. His records include being the first player since Ben Hogan to hold both the U.S. and British Open titles simultaneously and being captain of the very first European team to win the Ryder Cup in America. But, one record that Tony isn’t as well known for- probably for the best – was the actual record he released in 1972 called “Tony Jacklin Swings Into” which featured his versions of Tony Bennet’s signature song, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now and Frank Sinatra’s Come Fly With Me- which one website proclaimed was the best version of that classic ever recorded … by a golfer. In an interview with Golf Digest, Tony said – “I thought I did well yet somehow I never overtook the Beatles in popularity”.
So, if you answered B – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our prize today is a NIKE Slingshot cart golf bag. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our winner today is Steve Bealefield of Leesburg, Florida, and Steve - to claim your new Nike golf bag just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days and we will send your prize out to you.
Okay, that is it for today’s show. The middle of the week is a great time to beat the weekend crowds on the golf course, so why not book a round or two for this week and you can save up to 70% when you book your tee times online here at the #1 tee time website in the nation – GolfNow.com. I’m Keri Murphy, have a great Tuesday everyone and I’ll see you again tomorrow here on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.
