It’s Big Prize Wednesday and we’re giving away a set of Bob Burns wedges PLUS more free golf and free gas- today on GolfNow’s trivia contest.
Hi, everyone, Keri Murphy here halfway through our free golf and gas week on this Big Prize Wednesday edition of GolfNow’s trivia contest. Our featured GolfNow network course for today is The Club at North Creek in Southaven, Mississippi - another course in our GolfNow network where you’ll find great tee time deals when you book with us at www.GolfNow.com - the #1 tee time website in the nation.
A lot of players on all the different tours are used to signing autographs at tournaments but, there’s one thing you really just can’t forget to sign - and that leads us to today’s trivia question, which is:
Which golfer once lost the Pensacola Open when he was disqualifed after forgetting to sign his scorecard? Was it:
A.Gay Brewer
B. Jack Nicklaus
C. Roberto De Vicenzo
D. Doug Sanders
Just go to the entry form at GolfNow.com to submit your answer and tomorrow, we’ll tell you who it was and, if your answer was correct, then you will add one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Okay, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s Two for Tuesday show, which was:
Which two golfers were known as the “Gold Dust Twins” during the 1940’s?
Harold “Jug” McSpaden’s birthday was this past Monday, the 21st, and while he might not be as well-known as Byron Nelson these days, but if you mentioned the name The Gold Dust Twins during a good part of the 1940’s, then a lot of people would have known exactly who you were talking about. When both men were turned away from military service during World War II for health reasons, they ended up conducting more than 100 exhibition matches to raise money for the war effort, including events where they played with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Between the two of them, they seemed to win most of the prize money offered during 1944 and 45, finishing in first and second place at a lot of tournament which, ultimately, earned them their nickname.
So, if you answered A or C – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our Big Prize Wednesday winner this week is going to receive a set of 3 Bob Burns plus/minus custom-made wedges PLUS, since this is free gas and free golf week, then just like all of our winners this week, today’s winner will also receive a free round of golf from GoflNow.com and a free $50 golf now gas card to help get you out to the course so you can try those new Bob Burns wedges! Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
