President McKinley is the first sitting President to play golf, here at The Homestead, teeing off from the legendary First Tee of the Old Course in 1899. …
McKinley was the 25 President while Taft was the 27th 1909-1913
Think Terri was in error.

Just out of curiosity, were the winners of the Pro V1 sleeve supposed to be notified so shipping information could be provided or were the winners supposed to notify GolfNow.tv to claim the prize?

Wait, who’s in error? It’s “Keri” - not “Terri” — FYI

Regarding the challenge on our answer today: The reference listed saying that President McKinley was the first sitting President to play golf is the only one we found that made that claim. Our choice for correct answer was based on five sources claiming that Taft was the first president to play golf in office. Among our sources are two Golf Digest articles, a book on the history of golf in the White House, the transcript from an interview on NPR with the author of another book on Presidential golf and a biography on Taft from the University of Virgina Center of Public Affairs. One of the Golf Digest articles actually mentions the fact that McKinley was told by his advisors not to play golf. We have certainly found instances where claims from one source are contradicted or erased by another, but we certainly make every effort to verify all of our questions and answers with multiple sources.

Bill (or anyone else this applies to): if your address is not in your profile then you just need to enter it. There are people who only list their city and state when they sign up but in order to receive the gof balls we will need a mailing address. If there is a problem, please send an e-mail to contest@golfnow.tv.

I think the confusion lies, in that there is not really a place to add a home addy per say in the golfnowtv site/profile. The/your ship to addy should appear in your golfnow.com account. Which, if I’m not mistaken was a prerequisite to qualify for the V1 contest.

To make sure there is no confusion - you must go to your account profile at http://www.golfnow.com to update your address. There is no way to update it from the golfnow.tv site.
