The producer of our trivia contest has received an e-mail from the Project Manager of the World Ice Golf Committee in Greenland which we thought we should pass along in connection with our show today. The e-mail reads: “We have taken the sad decision to cancel the championships this year. The sea ice situation in Uummmannaq, North Greenland where the championship takes place is simply not good enough (for safety reasons we need min. 50 cm thick and good ice). You are welcome for the 2008 championships so lets hope for more safe ice next year.”

I am being sent a lot of advertisements from warrior golf and I am wondering if “Golf Now” gave warrior golf my address and phone number. If so please do not give my information out to anybody!!
Sincerely,

The answers offered/posted to Friday’s question were misleading per the World Ice Golf Championship website. Here is the information that I found:
Red golf balls
“590 km (370 miles) north of the Arctic Circle golfers from all over the world meet in March to compete in this unique tournament which requires both a healthy dose of adventurous spirit and a golf handicap no higher than 18. And it goes without saying that the golf balls are not white, but red.”
18 was not an option for the answer, but you know what, “No Worries Mate”, ’cause an eyeful of Keri was all I needed to end the week!

Regarding our answer choices from last Friday’s question: We were able to find the information you quoted about the 18 handicap limit. However, our question was based on the FAQ section of what we believe to be the official website for the World Ice Golf Championship which reads: “Q: What are the requirements for participation in The World Ice Golf Championship?
A: Anybody with a golf handicap up to 36 can sign up for participation.” as well as the “Course and Play” page on the same site which reads: “Maximum number of participants is 20. Maximum handicap is 36.” Based on those two items on their website we believe our answer was the correct one. We apologize if there was any discrepancy.
