I need to move to Cali so I have a shot at winning.

You and all the others like you need to quit your whining! See if you can use your tiny little brains, and follow along with this. There are more people in California. There are more correct entries from California. There is therefore a better mathematical chance for someone from California to win.
Got it?

I think he meant it as a joke. “Chill Out”

Cali is going to fall off into the ocean soon anyway so we’ll have plenty of chances to win in the future! (this also is a joke, I think).

There isnt more people from Cali than there is in the rest of the country combined, yet someone from Cali wins probably 90% of these.

You’re right, it’s counterintuitive that the number of winners from California would be greater than the rest of the US combined. However, what you don’t know is whether the participation rates across the country are relatively equal. Californians could be submitting correct responses in disproportionally greater numbers…Otherwise, the players from Cali should also be playing the California Lottery because these are incrediblly long odds.

While we haven’t done a complete breakdown -the last time we ran some statistics, Californians actually won less than 50% of the time - in spite of how it seems. Outside of California, there have been winners from 16 different states since the show started. In addition to the fact that GolfNow has a higher number of customers in California, Arizona and Florida, those states also essentially have golf weather for longer periods during the year. So, if you have more people in states that have more golf courses, and perhaps may have also been playing for longer, then they would have a higher number of entries built up into our database. It is definitely a numbers game but people really do win who aren’t in California, so we hope you’ll continue to play and enjoy the trivia each day.
