It’s Friday, June 27th and we’re giving away a NIKE Golf grab bag. Let’s find out if you’re our winner - today on Golf Now’s Trivia Contest.
Hey there, Keri Murphy with the final trivia contest for this week here on GolfNow.com and our featured course for today is the Sanctuary in Chicago – another course in our GolfNow network where you can save when you book online with us at www.GolfNow.com - the #1 tee time website in the nation.
Okay, we’ve talked a lot about the names of golf holes on different courses, but this might be the only course that has a hole named after a movie and, so, our question for today is:
Which golf course in Ireland has a hole named after a movie starring Robert Mitchum? Is it:
A. Ring of Kerry Golf Club
B. Tralee Golf Club
C. Killarney Golf Club or
D. Ballybunion Golf Club
Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and on Monday’s show, we’ll tell you which course it is and we’ll see if your answer was correct and earned you another entry into our computer for our daily drawings.
Now, let’s find out the answer to our trivia question on the U.S. Women’s Open that we featured on yesterday’s show, which was:
Which country was the first foreign born winner of the U.S. Women’s Open from?
For the first nine years of the Women’s Open, American women always ended up as champions – including three wins by Babe Zaharias, and two each by Louise Suggs and Betsy Rawls. Since then, winners from outside of the U.S. have included France’s Catherine LaCoste, who won as an amateur in 1967, Jan Stephenson from Australia who was champion in 1983 and Laura Davies from England who won in 1987. Of course, Annika Sorenstam is one of two winners from Sweden and Se Ri Pak and Birdie Kim have both represented South Korea as champions. But, the very first winner to come from outside of the U.S. and capture the championship was Fay Crocker from Uruguay, who won in 1955 at the Wichita Country Club in Kansas.
So, if you answered D - then you were right and you’ve added one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings where you can win great golf prizes and our prize today is a grab bag of NIKE golf products – which includes a dozen NIKE One platinum golf balls. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our winner today is Ben Husby of Monroe, Michigan. Congratulations, Ben, you’ve just won a great NIKE golf grab bag and, in order to claim your prize, all you have to do is send me an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.
