August 4, 2008

It’s August 4th and it’s Big Prize Monday to kick off the first day of our PGA Championship theme week - today on GolfNow’s trivia contest.

Hi, everyone, Keri Murphy back with you during PGA Championship week here on GolfNow.com. Our featured course for today is Coyote Lakes Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona - and you can save when you book your tee times for this course online with us at www.golfnow.com – the #1 tee time website in the nation.

Okay, as you know, the 90th PGA Championship takes place this week at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan and so that means we’ll have our final trivia theme week on this year’s major tournaments so, let’s just get right to it and, our question for today is:

Which golfer had the most consecutive victories at the PGA Championship? Was it:

A. Tiger Woods
B. Gene Sarazen
C. Leo Diegel or
D. Walter Hagen

Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and tomorrow, we’ll tell you which champion had the most consecutive victories and you’ll find out if your answer is correct and earned you another entry into our computer for our daily drawings.

Okay, now, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s show, which was:

Who was the first player to become champion of the Women’s British Open three times?

Not only did Karrie Webb’s victory at the 2002 Women’s British Open make her the first player to win that major three times, it also made her the first player in the history of the LPGA to achieve the Super Career Grand Slam of winning all five women’s majors available during her career. Starting with the du Maurier Classic in 1999, she went on to win the Nabisco Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open in 2000 and then the LPGA Championship in 2001. In addition to her victory at the Women’s British Open in 2002, Karrie was also inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame that year.

So, if you answered B – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and we’re kicking off our PGA Championship theme week with a Big Prize Monday drawing and our prize today is a 2008 PGA Championship embroidered stand golf bag plus a framed signature edition PGA Championship photo of the 18th hole at Oakland Hills Country Club. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

And our winner today is Dave Hanlen of Arvada, Colorado – and to claim this great embroidered PGA Championship bag - just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days and we will send it right out to you.

Okay, that is it for today’s show.
