Which golfer has played in the most Ryder Cup Matches? Was it:
A. Seve Ballasteros
B. Billy Casper
C. Nick Faldo
D. Arnold Palmer
Mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and on Monday’s show, we’ll tell you who it was and we’ll see if your answer was correct and earned you another entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Now, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s show, which was:
What was the last year that the Ryder Cup Matches were held in the summer?
The Ryder Cup was originally scheduled in June so the British players that made the long and costly trip across the pond could also enter the U.S. Open during the same trip. But, that all changed when the Ryder Cup was played in Ohio in 1931. With temperatures in the upper 90’s, the British Team were not used to the heat and some players actually poured buckets of cold water over them to cool off. So, after the match, which the U.S. won 9 to 3, the British PGA made it known that their players would not compete during the summer months again and so, beginning with the next match in 1933 in England, it was moved to later in the year and has stayed that way ever since.
So, if you answered A - then you were right and you’ve added one more entry Into our computer for our daily drawings where you can win great golf prizes and today we’re giving away our last Ryder Cup prize package, which includes the brand new book, The Ryder Cup – Golf’s Greatest Event, a complete illustrated history of the tournament. C. 1953 or

Okay, now let’s find out the answer to our Ryder Cup trivia question from yesterday’s show, which was:
Which golfer was invited to play in the Ryder Cup but decided to go hunting instead?
By 1977, the U.S. Team had won all but three of the Ryder Cup Matches since it was first played in 1927, and had held on to the trophy in the last nine matches. So, the contest had really begun to be seen as so lopsided in America’s favor that not only were the public and the media starting to lose interest, so were some of the players. So much so, in fact, that even though he had already played on two previous Ryder Cup teams in 1973 and 1975, when Tom Weiskopf was invited to play on the U.S. Team in 1977, he declined so that he could go elk hunting.
So, if you answered D – then you were right and you’ve added another new entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our Big Prize for today is a framed Commemorative Ryder Cup poster autographed by the artist, Leroy Neiman. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
And our Big Prize winner is Ron Cunningham of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Congratulations, Ron, and now, to claim this beautiful Ryder Cup artwork, all you have to do is to send an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.

A. Tony Jacklin
B. Johnny Miller
C. Eamonn Darcy or
D. Tom Weiskopf

Okay, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s show, which was
Which golf course hosted the only Ryder Cup Matches to be played in Scotland?
The Ryder Cup Matches were held 10 times here in America, and nine times in England, before making its first appearance in Scotland for the 20th Ryder Cup Matches in 1973. The matches were held that year at Muirfield Links and there were several other firsts that happened there. It was the first year that players from the Republic of Ireland were eligible to compete for the British Team and it was also the first year that a hole-in-one was made in the history of the matches, when Peter Butler aced the par-3 16th hole during the morning foursomes, after he had been called just an hour and a half before his tee time to replace Bernard Gallacher, who had gotten food poisoning and couldn’t compete. The Ryder Cup matches haven’t been back to Scotland since then but, they will return in 2014 with they will be contested at the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus.
So, if you answered B – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and today we’re giving away another Ryder Cup prize package which includes the brand new book, The Ryder Cup – Golf’s Greatest Event, a complete illustrated history of the tournament. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:
