Hi everyone- It’s Thursday, July 31st – I’m Keri Murphy and you might be the winner of a NIKE IC putter today on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.

Hi, everyone and welcome back to another edition of GolfNow’s trivia contest – just one day away from our 400th show - and our featured course for today is the Cimarron Golf Resort in Palm Springs, California – just one more course that makes up our nationwide network of courses where you can save when you book your tee times here with us at www.golfnow.com.

Okay, let’s get right to our trivia question for today, which has to do with just one of several golfers who have also been authors and so, our question for today is:

Which World Golf Hall of Fame member wrote an instructional book that featured a forward by Bing Crosby?

Was it:
A. Lloyd Mangrum
B. Sam Snead
C.Ben Hogan or
D. Byron Nelson

Just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow TV and on Monday, we’ll tell you whose book it was and if your answer was correct, then there will be one more entry for our daily drawings with your name on it.

Okay, now let’s find out the answer to our trivia question from yesterday’s show, which was:

What is the only other state that has hosted the WGC tournament now known as the Bridgestone Invitational? — C. Washington

The World Series of Golf began in 1962 at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio and became a PGA Tour event in 1976. Over the years, it went through several name changes before ultimately becoming one of the World Golf Championships event called the NEC Invitational in 1999. But, even under different names, the tournament has been played in Ohio every year for over 40 years now – except in 2002, when it was moved to the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington for just that one year and Craig Perry of Australia shot 15-under par to win and break Tiger Woods’ streak of three consecutive wins at the tournament.

So, if you answered C – then you were right and you’ve added another new entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our prize today is a NIKE IC putter from Golf Digest’s 2008 Hot List. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

And our winner today is Terry Kolkmann of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Congratulations, Terry, you’re the second winner from Oklahoma this week and now, to claim this Nike putter, all you have to do is to send an e-mail to me at Keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.

Okay, that’s it for our show today but don’t forget that tomorrow is our 400th show and to celebrate we’ve got a really big Big Prize Friday so be sure to watch to see if you’re our winner! I’m Keri Murphy, have a great day and I’ll see you again tomorrow on GolfNow’s Trivia Contest.

Okay, the third and final World Golf Championships event, the Bridgestone Invitational, takes place this week and throughout the history of this tournament, including when it was known as the World Series of Golf, it has always been played at the Firestone Country Club in Ohio, except for only one year and that leads us to today’s trivia question, which is:

What is the only other state that has hosted the WGC tournament now known as the Bridgestone Invitational? Was it:

A. Florida
B. New York
C. Washington
D. Arizona

Just go to the entry form at GolfNow.com to submit your answer and tomorrow, we’ll tell you what tournament it was and, if your answer was correct, then you will add one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings. Okay, let’s find out the answer to our question from yesterday’s show, which was:

Who was the first golfer to win both the U.S. Open and the U.S. Senior Open two times?

Well, Arnold Palmer was the first golfer to win both of these USGA events once, Billy Casper was the first player to win the Senior Open who had two wins at the U.S. Open and Gary Player was the first to win the Senior Open two times with consecutive wins in 1987 and 88, but with just one U.S. Open win. Then, in 1993, with his second win at the Senior Open, Jack Nicklaus became the first golfer to win twice at that tournament after having won, well not just two times, but four times at the U.S. Open. Then, seven years later in 2000, Hale Irwin- who is the Honorary Chairman for this year’s tournament – became the second and last two-time champion who also had at least two wins at the U.S. Open.

So, if you answered A – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and our prize today is an OGIO Grom stand golf bag . Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

It’s Monday, July 28th – I’m Keri Murphy and we start the countdown to our 400th show - today on GolfNow’s trivia contest.

Hi, everyone, welcome back to GolfNow’s Trivia Contest and this Friday is going to be our 400th show and we have a great prize to give away so be sure to mark your calenders. Okay, let’s just get right to our first trivia question for this week. Okay, we still have a lot of summer left but sometimes the heat can get a little intense out on the golf course so, when that happens, maybe you can imagine you’re playing in a tournament where it’s pretty much impossible to stay warm and so, with that in mind, our question for today is:

Which country hosts the annual Chivas Snow Golf Championship? Is it:

A. Greenland
B. Sweden
C. Russia
D. Switzerland

As always, just mark your answer on the entry form at GolfNow.com and tomorrow, we’ll tell you where this very cool golf tournament is held and, if your answer was correct, then you’ll have one more entry in our computer with your name on it for our daily drawings.

Okay, now, let’s find out the answer to our question from last Friday’s show, which was:

What was the first company to make a matched set of golf clubs in the United States?

Working with golfer Bobby Jones, A.G. Spalding and Company not only designed the first set of matched golf clubs, but also the first set that featured steel shafts instead of hickory. They also replaced the old Scottish names of each club with the numbered set, which is the standard today. Jones rejected over 200 clubs before he was satisfied and the set, which featured his name, came out in 1932 and were top sellers for years afterwards.
So, if you answered A – then you were right, which means that you now have one more entry into our computer for our daily drawings and, since we were just talking about Bobby Jones first set of clubs, our prize today is an official Bobby Jones signature wedge. Okay, computer, show me today’s winner:

And our winner today is Brett Neff of Yukon, Oklahoma and Brett, to claim this Bobby Jones wedge, just send an e-mail to me at keri@golfnow.com within the next 30 days.
