City of Derry

The 18-hole City of Derry Golf Club was established in 1912 and was akin to golf royalty. The first nine was designed by Willie Parks Jr., son of Willie Parks of Musselburgh who won the first open championship in 1860. Parks Jr. won the open in 1887 and 1889. Today, the modern clubhouse is perched atop a rise, providing beautiful views of the 18th green, Foyle river and the Donegal mountains. The rolling golf course spans almost 6,000 meters with variety being its main feature, with lush green fairways meandering through mature woods. The tree-lined course is a par 71 for the back and middle tees, a par 72 for the forward tees.
