One of the more unique golf courses in Ireland, the nine-hole Glencullen Golf Club is situated high in the Dublin Mountains. Designed by Des Smyth, Glencullen offers players a tricky layout that includes incredible panoramic views of the mountains as well as the bay below. Starting with a par 3 that is designed to test, Glencullen gives golfers open fairways with strategically placed bunkers that are designed both to temp long-hitters, as well as those whose games revolve around solid course management. Set adjacent to the highest pub in all of Ireland -- Johnnie Foxes -- Glencullen Golf Club is open year-round, despite its high altitude. For most golfers, Glencullen is more than a golf course, as the stunning visages make for a truly memorable day on one of the most interesting runs in the country. Opened in 1997, the golf course continues to mature and improve, making it a must-play for golfers who enjoy a full golf experience.
