Well maintained and fun course to play
Always enjoy playing Camas Meadows, but usually a little prohibitive due to the price. Therefore, good to have the price deal. The course is very spread out, but mixes some fairly short par 3's and 4's with holes that have water in play or some special feature, such as doglegs, blind shots, and well placed bunkers. Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Played from the whites, but looks like blue tees might make the course a completely different challenge, which is nice variety.

This course has many different holes.
This is a very interesting course. It starts out with a fairly mondane par 4 followed by a long par 3 over a nature perserve. Many of the holes feature natural wetlands which you must carry as they are protected. Most of the holes are lined with either trees or have strategically placed fairway bunkers so shot accuracy is a must. The greens are well maintained as is the rest of the course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is great and has a full service bar and good food.

Tight, short course, carts a good idea.
I know, the review summary seems at odds with itself, it's short but you need a cart? As so often happens with newer courses, placed in urban area's, the course designer has to work with what he or she is given. Much of the layout has area's of wetland that have been designated area's of natural interest. As such, these can be built in, entered just driven by, this leads to significant walks from green to the next tee-box. From 17th green to the 18th tee box for example, I've been informed it's 365 yards, almost a par 4 in itself, 14 thru 16 wind through a local neighbourhood as it does also through 4 thru 9, with long distances separating green and tee in places. Long story short, though the holes might be short, white tee's are 5700 yards, blue are 6200, if you're going to struggle making those distances carrying your bag or with a pull cart, a motorized cart is a good investment for the day.
The course itself tends to require precise drives from the tee, if you can't keep your driver straight, you will struggle at times to keep your ball in bounds. That being said, if you can achieve this, it's also a course you can score on. The slope rating really only kicks in on one hole, the long par 5 9th and perhaps the long par 4 14th, other than that you won't find too many lies where you're required to respect the slope on your shot.
As mentioned before, the course is placed to fit around wetlands, it's low lying in many places. This leads to the fairways retaining water well into early summer, don't expect
a lot of run when hitting from the tee, what you carry in the air is largely what'll you end up driving.
It's a course I enjoy playing but one I'm aware of in advance, straight driving is at a premium. I use it as a good indicator of how well I'm driving, once your ball is in play, you'll have a lot of opportunity to fire at pins from short distance and find out if your approach play is good enough to put you position to go low. If this doesn't describe your game, you may want to think about spending your money elsewhere, it's just not fun hitting 3 off the tee and losing a ball with regularity.
One last note, about carts here, all of which I think are equipped with GPS. I have, at times, found the yardage from them to be at odds with what the actual yardage on the course is. You could probably say this of all golf yardage GPS systems, the technology is reliant on establishing a signal from low-orbit. 10 yards isn't much to be off by from 300 miles up but it can be all the difference when informing your decision of what club to hit on approach. Check your yardage on the ground as well as on the screen if you can. Flushing a pitching wedge you feel is the right club and watching it sail over the pin and off the back of the green is not amusing.

Best public course in SW Washington
For wet February conditions, there were only a few spots on the fairway or nearby rough that were soggy and holding water. Greens were in decent shape and bunkers had been raked. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Since it included a cart, excellent value.

Good for the price and weather
One of my favorite. Modern, Tough, and has GPS. Great conditions for how much rain we had and greens were nice.

Winter Golfing at Camas
It's still winter, and the greens were soft spiked with bumps and ball marks not getting repaired also the grass on the greens being cut down to the soft sandy dirt in my opinion they were too short. The balls off the tee plugged in some to most areas of the fairways and roughs. But it's winter time and that was somewhat expected. We were hoping for better, the sun was bright and there was no wind..big plus. Look forward to coming back in a couple of months.

2 par 3's had mats no so good
Nice but too wet, carts on path only and did not like the mats on 2 par 3's

this course looked beautiful but unable to pay on real greens.
I did not understand why the course or the website would not have put on before booking about not playing on actual greens. They had make shift greens which was the first time encountered on any course this winter. Would not have booked tee time at Camas Meadows if information was provided. I would still golf there in the summer, but never in the winter. I play year round and look forward to actually golfing instead of hitting short of the greens, which then made the GPS on the golf carts invalid. Very unhappy with the booking. 1/13/

Camas Meadows
This course probably has some of the friendliest staff I've seen.
The course is always well maintained, greens are super fast,
Even after the week of rain we've had. Even thru the drizzle of a
typical northwest winter afternoon. My group and I had a fantastic
time on this course.

Ok to play in the summer...winter...forget it.
Way overpriced at $50.00+ except maybe in the summer. Soft, mushy fairways, plugged balls, chainlink fences bordering holes, houses on the course...should be $30.00 max. The course has a nice practice facility.

Short but plays long.
Course is well cared for and is challenging. The Fairways are fairly tight and some wayward shots will find trouble. Plenty of trees and environmental hazards.

short but challenging course
This course is usually in very good shape it's pretty short but also pretty challenging lots of doglegs

Good layout, bad winter course
I enjoyed the course, but there is a lot of standing water on the course. With it being cart path only, you have to carry a lot of clubs to your ball and need a portable gps to get good yardage.

Great condition course with beautiful layout
Playing toward the end of October at any course you would expect the fairways and green to be in fair condition however on the day I played this course this was not the case at all. When first pulling up in our cars a players assistant met us with a cart which was the start of a great day. They got us out as quick as possible and allowed us to tee off with just two which was another great start to the day. The course was in amazing shape for the end of October. The course layout is fun with some challenging holes that make you pick some good spots to hit the ball. Green condition again for being the end of October was better then any other course I had played in the Portland Metro area. Overall I would say this was one of my top courses I have played and trust me I have played every public course in the Portland Metro area. My only down side to the course would be a couple times there where greens keepers working in fairways and on the greens and a couple times they did not have the courtesy to get out of the way during not only my shot but my playing partners shot. Again not problem enough to ruin my golf round but did ruin my golf partners golf round not sure he would give such a good review. I am considering getting a membership next year and I live over an hour away from this course. Great course I will be back for sure. Thanks Camas Meadows well done.

Nice course, good people. Excellent for the money.
Great course, nice people. Always try and get here during the fall when the leaves are changing. GPS in the carts helps speed up play...we are usually done in around 3:45.
