If you can play it for cheap.....
Maybe the worst sand traps I've ever seen. No starter or marshal. if the price is right, the course will challenge you.

Nice course to walk.
The course itself (fairways, greens, tee boxes) are in good shape. However, there is a lot of debris by the creeks and on and near the paths that detract from the overall beauty of the course.

Not worth the money
Only $32, but not worth half that. Fairways need much attention

Usually Quiet, well maintained and quick pace of play
Title says it all. Cheap, nice condition, not too difficult, very well maintained.

This course is great bang for your buck.
Less than $18 to ride 18. It was a bit windy and brisk, but still definitely worth it. The course was wide open, only a few singles out there that played through. The course is always a good challenge, forgiving on some holes, not so much on others. It drained really well following Hurricane Sandy passing through. The only difficulty was finding your golf ball due to the afternoon sun glare and leaves blowing around, either covering your ball or making everything look like a golf ball. This is my go to local course and I'll definitely be out there playing it again in the near future.

Just a course to go for fun with friends
If you like to go out and mess around on the course with friends, than Westpark is great for you. If your someone who wants to golf for real at a really nice golf course, then i wouldnt go here. The shape of the course is okay, but the little details arent there, like the tee boxes arent ever maintained and the greens arent consistant and neither are the carts. Pace of play is always really slow. For the price though, you cant beat it.

Good value - well kept bent grass greens
Well kept greens (especially considering I was there 2 weeks after aerating), very fair course with a lot of straight 8 foot putts. Not near as crowded as most Northern VA courses. Some good holes, not a lot of trouble in play. Good for walking

Very Enjoyable Round
This is a very nice course with a few challenges and interesting terrain. I had booked a "smokin' deal" tee time and three others had booked as well. I arrived early and was allowed to go out solo to play since the other group looked like they were going to be just on time (if that). I saw quite a few singles out playing and the pace was very fast as a result. I enjoyed that aspect of my visit.
Some tee boxes could use a bit of maintenance, as could a few muddy spots on fairways, but in general the course condition was good and it is reasonably well marked. There are enough elevation changes and mild dog legs to some of the holes that the course is really fun to play. I will be back soon with friends.

You get what you pay for...
I live relatively close to this course, and have played it multiple times over the last 5 years. When I first started playing the course, I thought that the maintenance was good. Unfortunately, now the course has really been run down. First of all, this is the only course i've ever played that I would rather be in the rough than in the fairway. The fairways feel like they are built on cement. Very hard, inconsistent, weed filled grass. At least in the rough you can get a soft piece of grass to strike down against. I would land my tee shots in the middle of the fairway, and end up in either a hole where the grass was missing, or the grass was not really grass, but weeds. The sandtraps appear to have been built with left over dirt from a construction build. In otherwords, if you end up in a trap, don't approach it as a sand shot, because there is less than an inch of sand in those traps. The greens are consistently inconsistent. Very hard to get a true read for your lines when there are unrepaired divots, and other unforeseen bumps on the green. They replaced the 15th, and 17th fairway with bermuda grass. Sounded like a great idea. The problem is that they don't have an irrigation system in place, so these fairways are the hardest hit by the weather conditions. In addition to the fact that these are poorly maintained as well. It really is unfortunate, because this course used to be a great community course to walk. It is flat for most of the holes, and pretty much wide open. There are some good points to the course layout. The opening hole is a reachable par 5, hole 10, and 18 surround a pretty lake setting that is rewarding when hitting the green. Overall, this is the course to go to if you are learning how to play. It is hacker friendly, but this also slows the pace of play. I would never choose this course as a go to for out of towners. But would take my wife, who only plays twice a year.

Very affordable especially on GolfNow,
Great course for the frugal golfer. Not very difficult but has some interesting holes. #2 is an uphill par 4, #4 is a par 4 dogleg left that requires an accurate 200 yard tee shot, 18 is a fun par 3 carry over water. I have never seen a beverage cart and the fairways almost always need attention. but again, for the money you can't beat it.
