Rushed! I arrived 45 minutes before my tee time as I like to hit a small bucket and putt a bit. I was told I'd be paired up with 2 others to make a threesome at the designated tee time. I was doing my usual no rush routine to get warmed up. About 20 balls into a small bucket, an employee approached me and said "The tee box is open whenever you're ready". Still 20 minutes before my tee time and haven't been informed of the other two being ready or present. I just saw a twosome go off about 8-10 minutes prior and if I was going to play as a single, I mine as well wait a few more minutes or I'd catch them on #2 anyway. Then I see another single driving to the tee box. The employee says "That guy's going out as a single". I felt like this was a statement made for me to join him. I actually enjoy meeting new golfers, so no biggie. Twosome in front of us shouldn't be that bad, right? We play the first hole without issues and head to the next. We get to the 2nd hole's tee box and see the twosome standing in the fairway. We have to wait a minute and then tee off, wait for the 2nd green to clear and then hit our shots into #2 green. Finish #2 and drive to the #3 tee and BOOM....severe backup! The twosome in front of our twosome was waiting to hit their tee shots. Two guys on the green taking so much time you'd think they were putting to win a major. We played two more holes before being caught by a single, so we ended up making a threesome. What I discovered through conversation was that each one of us had the same exact tee time, were told to go off the first tee whenever we're ready and eventually met up with one another anyway. With 3 carts to boot! It made no sense and would have been much more enjoyable if they would hold people to their tee times and allow gaps that would allow someone to get into their groove and not have to wait 5-10 minutes between their shots. We got the tee time for a specific time, if there's a big gap between our group and the last group then so be it. What I think is they want everyone to tee off as soon as possible in order to get the carts out and people on the course in order to close the pro shop and go home as early as possible. I paid to play 18 and could only tolerate 9. Good thing I made that decision because I could see the blockage on the #10 tee box and fairway, #12 fairway and green, #13 tee box, fairway and green all while driving home. This isn't the first time a round has gone down like this at this course. It was a weekday afternoon round, so I can't even imagine what it's like on a weekend morning round. As a Teravista resident, I'd consider a membership at this course if it were more organized. I've never seen a marshall on this course and it desperately needs one. To Teravista staff: FIX YOUR BUNKERS, THEY'RE TERRIBLE! October 11, 2014
tera vista or sun city#2? they has been catering to the elderly, it is getting like Sun City. They are ungodly slow, do not fix digits or rake traps. If you are behind them, forget about etiquette n letting you thru...We called the worthless staff and were told " oh our pro got rid of the marshalls!" Fairways are riddled with divots left unsanded, greens have ball marks all over them turned brown.Several members I play with are leaving. October 1, 2014
bring your A-1 driver The course was in very good condition. Not an easy course. Your first hit is very important. I enjoy it and play it again September 30, 2014
Almost... The course layout is challenging and there are a few intimidating tees that test your confidence. The greens were good on the day I played, holding well and rolling true. However the sand traps are the worst I have seen. Maybe it was the heavy rains a week past? They were hard pan and full of fire ants, and most had lining martial exposed in common collocation areas. The club house is nice and the on course cart person was extremely pleasant. The only thing that stops an above average rating is the sand trap conditions. September 29, 2014
Teravista great, except... Teravista is arguably my favorite course in central Texas. Historically, the conditions are great and the greens are fantastic. The design is tough but fair. The only drawback is recently the bunkers have become virtually unplayable. Many of them have no sand left in them, with the base fiberglass-type material sticking up through the bunker. It's simply horrendous that a course of Teravista's stature would allow the bunkers to devolve into what they are today. September 29, 2014
Nice course Course was in good condition except for the bunkers...which were terrible. Would not recommend this course until bunkers have real sand instead of pebbles and dirt. September 28, 2014
Slooooooowwww Play 2.5 hours to play 9 holes of golf. Marshall set a 3 group tourney in front of us, one group on each of the first 3 holes, 2 man select shot scramble, no one had tee'd off 20 minutes before them so course was wide open. We were a threesome with a beginner, by the time we got to the 3rd hole, the twosome behind us was already waiting, by the 5th hole, the group behind them caught up to us also. We were waiting 10 minutes or longer on every tee box after the first hole. Never saw a Marshall and will never waste my time going back there with expectations of getting anything more than disappointed. Unfortunately, the Hot Deal that I made on line turned out to be a sour deal, it was like paying full price. September 12, 2014
Very Good Value Teravista is a very nice, very well maintained course. The practice area is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. On my Sunday round I only had to pay $45, just an incredible value for how good the course is. I played 36 holes in only 7 hours, so pace of play was excellent as well. The carts have gps, ball/club cleaners and are in very good condition. I highly recommend Teravista. It is buy far the best value in the Austin area. September 8, 2014
