Redstone Golf Club - Tournament Course 4.5 5 2 2
A tour level experience on a big golf course As a collection of holes, the Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston (as it's now called), home of the Shell Houston Open, is a great experience. Lots of interesting holes, fairly difficult no matter what tees you play, and all of them are in terrific shape. As a walk in the park, not so much. The golf course is spread out of 350 acres, with some pretty good distances between greens and tees, especially Nos. 1 & 2 and 17 & 18. Green fees might seem expensive at $175 or so, but it compares very favorably to courses around the country that charge more. December 23, 2013
Expensive but worth it. This is the quintessential PGA experience in Houston. Bordering on the ridiculous. The staff will greet you in the parking lot and offer to take your bag and load it up on the golf cart for you. They'll shine your clubs up and get you ready. The driving range is great, as they stock it with Titleist ProV1 practice balls. Forecaddies will hunt your ball down for you and even carry your bag if you want to walk it like a pro. I would not recommend this course to beginners as the experience will be lost on you. This is for the intermediate to advanced players. December 24, 2012
