Shallow Creek Country Club
This used to be a nice course but I was very disappointed with it this time.it is in the process of being upgraded but the overall upkeep was bad!

This has to be the worst playing conditions I have ever played in 30+ years of golfing. I cannot believe that it is even open. It is clear that this has received some damage from mother nature but obviously there is no money to repair it. We were told the greens had been top dressed but there was an awful lot of sand for just top dressing. Some greens had several ant hills. Most tee boxes were so hard that it was impossible to put a tee in the ground. Fairways had deep trenches all over with minimal grass. No ball washers or garbage cans. Very little signage directing you to the next hole. It's apparent that someone had some grandiose plans for the course and the homes (there are some grand homes) but ran out of money. Don't waste your money!

Still work in progress
Course greens are in tough shape right now. Lots of drainage issues after the off season but work being done everywhere that will hopefully get the course back to good shape soon.

Short course drove a couple of greens... Semi difficult water and woods come into play on many holes. Grass needs to grow fairways are pretty bare but overall for the money good place to play

Our foursome was very impressed with the course. Even though it is still winter it was in very playable shape. It should be awesome as it greens up! We will be back! Totally great experience!

The course has lots if challenge but is in very poor condition - lots of bare areas, water/flood damage.
Gal in pro shop was extremely friendly and polite. She gets 5 stars!

Challenging layout, poor conditions and rock hard greens
Very challenging layout to the fact several holes are impractical. Greens are very small mounds and hard as concrete. You'll never take a lob wedge out of your hands. Pin placements were consistently within 4-8ft of the fridge and on severe slope. This did not compliment the rock hard greens. Multiple tee boxes were so hard I broke tees trying to place them in the ground. As a 3hdcp I can appreciate a tough course and the thought process with all the layups and small landing areas. However the course can not be in such poor condition if it plays this way. Perhaps I'm used to the better course in the DFW metroplex, but this place was not even worth the $36 they charged.
