Tour 18 Golf Course Dallas
Greens need help
Fairways looked great but the greens were furry and a few looked like they barely survived the winter. I know Texas is in a drought but has had ample rain in the past month. Also, the round was supposed to come with a free bucket but there were none provided even though the range was looked like it had just been picked.

Classic gone bad
Have always wanted to play and this was the first time. We played as a twosome and joined up with another twosome that lived in the neighborhood who had a lot to say about the management of this course. Greens were a joke and lots were trashed. Even had one that had GIR on the green. Used a $40 coupon and it played like a $40 course. We had read the reviews but still wanted to play. Lots of GIR bunkers (just looked trashy) but the greens were just awful. Maybe to much tournament play over the years. If they re did their greens I would go back.

I have played over 200 courses in my lifetime and
this one probably was the worst of all of them do
not pay money to play this course, just go out and
hack it around at any park it will probably have better
surfaces to putt on. this place needs to shut down
and start over with new staff and everything.

Nice track....but greens were in very poor shape
Tour 18 is a challenging track and can be a fun layout to play. But currently (July 2014), the greens are in very poor shape.
They had aerated a few weeks ago, which is expected this time of year. But the greens were fuzzy, extremely slow and very bumpy. Many of the greens were diseased and a couple (including one of the Amen Corner replica holes) had a large portion makes off as ground under repair. The rates are apparently discounted due to the green issue.
Between the long round and poor greens, there are much better options out there.

I began to play this course 4 years ago when I moved to Texas. The theme is great and the course was in great shape. Unfortunately, I brought some clients here and we found the greens to be bare in some areas to the extent you should either have temporaries or just close the course for remodeling in some areas. I understand we had several inches of rain a few days ago but the sand was like playing on a beach and grass was growing in the bunkers. I cannot afford to bring clients here or friends until conditions improve. I wish you all the best in correcting this fun layout.

Apparently Tour 18 has "given up".
First of all if I payed even close to what they wanted for a "full rate" id be UPSET right now. My rate was $36.00 @ 2:57 pm. And they wanted $65+ normally at this tee time. It all started off with NO ONE in the parking lot (plenty of parking available). And the few customers we did run into were leaving saying how deplorable the conditions of the course were. So then we go in to the proshop. 3 guys standing around doing NOTHING (ill get back to that). they say "welcome", your all set etc etc... we head to the bar and there we waited and waited till we left UNSERVED... So off we go to the practice tee, except there is no grass, its all dirt and the balls are all cut up and dirty. Now to the practice green. but it appears they just arated it yesterday (they didnt). we couldn't even practice on it. so we went up to the first tee.
The starter was nice, he called down to the proshop to make sure we could go off a bit early (again no one was there) and of course they said yes.
In general all the tee boxes were in good shape. but now the greens and bunkers.... I can honestly say 1/3+ of the greens on the course are unplayable. they are a complete loss. And there is no sand in the bunkers to speak of. now i know there has been a lot of rain this past week, but you can tell that there hasn't been sand in these bunkers in MONTHS if not years.
The yardage signs at the beginning of each hole have faded/peeled off to now become almost unreadable.
The staff is not friendly and welcoming(were they ever), we saw a beverage attendant a total of 2 times all day, and one of those times was when she was talking ( and ignoring us) to the bartender inside.
So how about the 3 gentlemen (all employees) sitting inside doing NOTHING on a beautiful Sunday when we checked in? How about you guys go outside and paint some yardage signs? How about you direct your staff to be be more attentive to the needs of your paying customers???
When we left the course my buddy and I looked at each other and said, "its almost as if they have just "given up" completely". and that's really too bad, cause I use to really enjoy this course and recommend it to my friends. And I can tell you now, I wont be going back anytime soon, if at all.
Long rant over, be wise and spend your money elsewhere anywhere.

Poor Greens, and Terrible Sand Traps
I've played this course at least once a year for the past 6 years and this this will be my last trip. The course conditions continue to deteriorate each time I play. The greens are in bad shape with brown spots, holes and bumps. The sand traps are full of water, mud and haven't had new sand in what seems like years. Tee boxes are hit or miss, fairways were decent and the rough was fair. The staff was friendly and service was good but not certainly not worth the price of a round.

Having played this course many times, I was disappointed for the first time. What is normally a well kept, fun course to play, was very disappointing. At least a third of the greens were in horrible condition, more dirt than grass. Bunkers had grass growing in them, and many of the other greens were very bumpy with bald patches. Very out of the ordinary for a course that is usually in great shape from tee to green.
