One of the first things you will notice about our championship golf course is the ultra-smooth SR 1020 Bentgrass greens. These greens roll as smooth as any that you have ever played on. Our tree-lined fairways and multiple elevation changes create the perfect venue for golf. Runaway Bay's meticulously manicured course, with its beautiful views of Lake Bridgeport and the surrounding area, provides an up-close look at the splendor Mother Nature has to offer.

Had a Blast My son and I played and enjoyed the course. Played 36 holes, that should say something about the course. Greens were excellent. Club house staff was nice, and bar area was very accommodating. June 15, 2014
nice little track I got a great deal through GolfNow. The weather was great. The bentgrass greens were in good condition but they rolled a little slow. Number 4 was pretty spotty. Maybe a fungus? the fairways needed to be mowed but other than that no complaints. A morning rain had just rolled through and the clouds remained for most of the day so it was very pleasent. Good value, great greens. Greens were excellent! Fairways are like most locally, hard and in need of rain. Course looks short on paper but the many doglegs cause you to think and plan out holes. Definitely not your typical driver, mid iron Texas course. Full grill, sparse but accommodating pro shop. We will be back. June 3, 2014
Give it a minute Pulling up to this place it looked closed. There's an early 90's limo that hasn't been moved or washed in 15 years sitting in the parking lot. The concrete tennis court looks great with all the grass growing in the cracks however since the net is missing it's useless. Once we walked in it was clean and the folks were nice. The carts were good with a GPS system. The course was great, nice fairways healthy trees and super fast greens. All of this for 10 bucks + beer. Great value, next time I make it out to Bridgeport I hope to play there again May 31, 2014
Great greens The fairways and teeboxes are patchy but the greens more than make up for them. Beautiful, true-rolling bent grass makes putting a pleasure and every putt within 15 feet is a legitimate birdie op. Definitely worth the long drive from Dallas, particularly if you get a hot deal. Enjoy! May 31, 2014
This course needs rain. The greens are in great shape. The fairways are somewhat sketchy due to the drought. The course plays shorter than normal due to the dryness. The lake is seriously low which may be part of the water problem. The course is still playable tee to green but without rain will probably fade in hotter weather. May 25, 2014
nice views Greens are the best shap i've played on this season. I play in the DFW area. May 11, 2014
would come back for sure I am almost 65, I rode 43 miles to the course, did not plan on was on a friday, about 10 am. I asked if they had rental clubs. They did, they gave me a senior discount, rental clubs, 10 range balls, I bummed some tees off a guy my age I saw playing and off i went.Coming back from the cold weather I thought the course was in amazing shape.Several elevated tee boxes, some doglegs, water hazards to carry before reaching the greens occasionally. The grees were in excellent shape.bent grass. And they are huge.I wish I had gotten the names of the lady at the proshop register or the man probably the club pro there. I couldnt stay for the whole round. I took the clubs back, the cart key back, and to my surprise they gave me a raincheck. The last time I had played there was nearly 25 years ago.The course and staff was great then and it is now. From the white tees its 6300 yards.About 6700 from the back tees.It is a challenge for the average golfer. I would highly recommend it. April 26, 2014
