Great Course
The most immaculate greens I have ever seen. My wedge shots snapped back like they were on a leash. The fairways were green and well kept. I would strongly recommend riding and not walking. It's almost a quarter mile from the club house to the first tee and the green-to-tee distances are long, Other than that, the best course i've played. They don't have a grill, so bring some snacks.

course in great shape
played here often course in good shape will play again

Challenging Greens.
Play was cut short by thunderstorm, really looking forward to playing again and finishing! Course knowledge a must as placing the ball on the green is key. Very good fairways and greens. Fastest I've played in awhile. I would guess 9 or 10 on the stimp meter.

A gem in the sticks!
First impressions of this course were terrific. Excellent condition, especially for a course this young. What it lacks in length it more than makes up for in well placed obstacles and very fast, severely undulating greens. Local knowledge a big plus. Only negative was the abundance of towsomes playing yesterday, allowed four groups to play through, felt rushed. Starter should have paired some of them up.

Mid Week Treat
For a Tuesday afternoon and behind a HS girls tournament the pace was great. Even a polite foursome let me play through. Iloved the green fairways and greens in late march! Highly recommend playing here.

Just a short drive North of San Antonio
This course is well worth the 30 min drive north of San Antonio. Can't wait for another chance to play when in town for business. Fairways in great condition for this time of year, greens in great condition. Just a great all around course. Love it and a great Golf Now value.

worth the drive!
Most challenging course, multi-level and speedy greens. Green fairways and excellent overall golf experience.

Worth the drive..
We had been in Austin for my brother's wedding on Friday night and found this course (about an hour drive) that looked interesting. There must have been 30mph gusts the day I was out there and the course was very busy (played on Sat.). Our tee time wasn't until 2pm, but we still managed to finish. This is definately one of those courses you have to have play at least once so you know where you can miss or leave the ball. The greens were in awesome shape and rolled TRUE....rate them 9 out of ten. Fairways in nice shape, rate them 7 out of 10. Some of the holes are narrow, the par fives are pretty generous. The tees are very forgiving for women players. My wife eagled #8 which is a par 5 approx 350yds for women.....I have never eagled a hole and now I will never hear the end of it. Overall had a good time. Oh yeah, HUGE thanks to Donna the cart lady that helped us try and find a room for the night.....she was very nice.

I played the course on from the blue(middle) tees.
My handicap is 10, and I found the course to be quite challenging. Some of the holes(par 4's) are rather short, but there is also some that are pretty long. The fairways and greens were in very good condition. There are very few homes on the course, and I would classify the course as well-improved country golf. I have played the course at different seasons of the year, and found it to be in good condition all the time.

Great Course, Bring your short game.
From the tee boxes to the greens these course is very well maintained, Fairways are in great shape and greens are fast and challenging, you will definitely need your short game for good scores. Worth the 30 min. drive from San Antonio.

PLEASANT EXPERIENCE
IT WAS A VERY WINDY DAY WHEN WE PLAYED. NOT KNOWING THE COURSE MADE IT MORE DIFFICULT. THE GREENS WERE ABOUT AS FAST AS WE HAD OCCURRED IN SOME TIME. BUT ALL IN ALL WE HAD A GOOD TIME AND WILL PLAY THE COURSE AGAIN.

Excellent in every regard.,
Great views of countryside.
From blue tees is perfect length ... pro tees too far back for me.
Fairways are perfect ... I feel guilty taking a divot.
Greens are very fast, almost too much so, but I love fast greens.
The greens are consistant for all the 18 holes. They roll true.
Only pick is trying to figure out how to go from the 8th to the 9th.

Fun course to play in very good condition
Vaaler is a great course with very difficult greens. The course is built on a great piece of property with beautiful vistas. It has a really good mix of some short holes with longer holes that will allow a golfer to play many different shots.

Best course I've played in Texas so far
I was very impressed with Vaaler Creek. The course was outstanding. It was very challenging, but I never thought it was unfair. There was always a way for me to play a hole. It is a course you need to know to expect to play very well. The greens were big for the most part and if you were on the wrong section of the green, a 2 putt was going to be tough. The course did let you know which pin positions were in play and the cart had a green map of each green. I don't think it is a course that could be very easily walked, but I am getting used to that. All in all, it is a top flight golf course. I wish it was a little closer to Austin. I will only be able to play there on the weekends.
February 19, 2013
greens best theyve been, probably 11 stimp the day i played
Greens best ive seen them, cut and rolleed day we played abd easily rolled 11, every putt true and breaking all over the place
February 17, 2013
best course in the area.
tough greens, great layout and hill country setting. Staff helpful and friendly.

Fabulous course in small town but easy to get to
This course is always in pristine condition, super well maintained, nice facilities, great practice range, brand new carts. They have greens to die for, from large to regular size, true putting, green to the max. Their fairways are lush and green even in February. Lots of play for any level of player. Some good tournaments as well.
February 11, 2013
Conditions were good
Overall the course is a fun layout, with challenges on most holes. Greens are in excellent conditions and the fairways are green for this time of year in Texas.
February 9, 2013
Course in great shape.
Fairways excellent for this time of year. Greens very challenging but also in great shape.

Outwards Golf Good
This is one of my favorite courses to play for the money. Greens are in immaculate shape, and I usually get around 18 in a good time. Because of the draught, fairways and rough are a little thin in places, which is to be expected.

Cool course, amazing greens.
Vaaler is an interesting layout, requiring well-placed tee shots. The trickiest part was the greens. The mini Verde ultra dwarf Bermuda made them very quick, and very true. The greens have a lot of undulation, which made for some fun, challenging putts, and some not-fun, almost impossible putts, borderline ridiculous in spots. Apparently the grass is shade-sensitive, so they've had to cut down trees around the greens. All in all, a fun place to play, if a little far out there.

Great design the course is a challenge with club selection key to low scores.
Nicely manicured T to green. Greens are not bumpy friendly staff can't wait to go back. Paid more for some courses that aren't half as good. Not a TPC course but well above average.

This course has great features and very good condition.
Very challenging course. Will take several outings to understand where and how to play your shots. The course is in excellent condition and obviously well maintained.
Looking forward to playing again.

Hidden Gem
Vaaler Creek is definitely off the beaten path, just outside of Blanco, TX. The course is not very long, but it is interesting and in great condition. Some of the holes will challenge you, like 18, where you have to carry ~ 100 of water after your tee shot to reach the green. Greens very fast and in excellent shape. Don't wait, play today.

great layout and scenery
This is a great layout along with natural beauty and generally above average course conditions for a significant discount to the big city. My only complaint is that #9 needs to be blown up and reshaped. It has no place on either an amateur or professional course. It truely stands out as the only hole on the course that does not belong amongst so many other memorable great ones! Don't miss it.

Difficult, but fantastic greens!
One of the hill country's gems! Bring you're A Game to score well.

Beautiful layout course. Many surprising challenges for first time visiters. .
nice, quiet and peaceful country course. Well maintained. Will definitely go back to play again. Must have good golf skills to score well at this course. Must see it to appreciate it. It is worth driving 300 miles one way.

My favorite course between SA and Austin
Always in great shape. Hesitant to write a charming review because its sort of a hidden gem haha. Some really tough but fair holes, but also a few to score on. The best track for the money in all of SA/Austin

Beautiful course, interesting challenges
Vaaler Creek is a gem. The course is short, but not without its challenges. The greens are pristine and fast without being rock-hard. Each hole has an interesting individual characteristic. Watch out for the 18th -- a water hole above all others! You'll leave the course wanting more ... worth the drive to the Hill Country.
