The 27 beautiful holes of River Oaks Golf Plantation are located on the site of a former nature preserve. Located conveniently just minutes from downtown Myrtle Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, the quiet and seclusion makes it hard to believe that you can be at the beach, Myrtle Beach Airport or some of the best attractions in town such as the Pavilion, Broadway at the Beach or NASCAR Café in less than 5 minutes.

The three nine-hole courses feature recently renovated undulating Champion Ultradwarf greens and tree-lined fairways. Follow Highway 501, over the Intercoastal Waterway Bridge , to a golfer’s sanctuary where mornings are spent chasing birdies and afternoons are spent in search of eagles - River Oaks Golf Plantation.

Dormant Fairways Tee boxes and greens were in excellent condition. Fairways, although well kept had many spots where the grass was dormant. March 20, 2015
Nice Course We only played nine holes on the Fox course. Price was great, and we enjoyed the round. The course appealed to me with ample fairways, and not too close to housing developments. Letts the average player feel more comfortable with shots, yet challenging enough to require good shot making to score well. Cannot wait to try the Otter and Bear nines also. March 18, 2015
Nothing special Had 2 PM tee time. Crowd at the bag drop was a nightmare. Got to the course in plenty of time, but couldn't get the carts loaded in time to hit range balls. They had obviously booked too many rounds. Front nine took over 3 hours. Brutal. Fox nine was very average. Crowd cleared out for back nine thankfully. Otter nine was average until 16, 17, and 18. Those three holes were by far the most challenging. A lot of water on 16 and 17. It was odd to have mediocre holes and then suddenly a couple challenging holes. Greens were in tough shape. Played in March. March 18, 2015
Interesting Course We played Fox/Otter with friends players we met there previously. We enjoy the course and the people that frequent it. March 17, 2015
Pleasant Surprise Well, well, well. Never thought I would be writing a positive review about this course, but here it is. Have been staying at River Oaks for years, but haven't played the course for quite some time. Reason being that it was a "dog track" back in the day. They have put much time, effort, and money on improvements. Condition is now very good. That being said, hit it straight. Not a long course, but there is trouble on nearly every hole. Fairways are narrow, but driver is not necessary on many of the par 4's and 5's. Also, merchandize in the pro shop won't cost you your first born male child! Would not hesitate to recommend this course. Be aware, we got a coupon special for $24. Ordinarily around $40+ to play. Played in just over 4 hours. Enjoy March 16, 2015
Soggy We had played this course a few years ago and weren't overly impressed. Thought we would give it another chance. Forecast was rain and possible thunderstorms but we went out anyway. That's what you do when you're a million miles from home. We got wet but there was no lightning. The course was understandably wet but was actually in great shape. The greens were very good. Changed our opinion of the course to impressed and would certainly play again. Staff was very friendly and let us out way early despite having a red hot tee time so we were appreciative. All in all a great day! March 16, 2015
Decent Course We were paired with a couple from Canada who were equally matched with us. The course was nice and we had a good time. March 15, 2015
Good deal Great course It was a packed day and that did not seem to slow the course. Great condition. I was never really held up due to overcrowding even though I feared that walking in. Will definitely return. Course is great for Intermediate players. March 8, 2015
