The 27 beautiful holes of River Oaks Golf Plantation are located on the site of a former nature preserve. Located conveniently just minutes from downtown Myrtle Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, the quiet and seclusion makes it hard to believe that you can be at the beach, Myrtle Beach Airport or some of the best attractions in town such as the Pavilion, Broadway at the Beach or NASCAR Café in less than 5 minutes.

The three nine-hole courses feature recently renovated undulating Champion Ultradwarf greens and tree-lined fairways. Follow Highway 501, over the Intercoastal Waterway Bridge , to a golfer’s sanctuary where mornings are spent chasing birdies and afternoons are spent in search of eagles - River Oaks Golf Plantation.

Below average... This establishment has three 9 hole courses that are in need of major repair. Course needs cart path paved. Management should adjust pricing due to course under repair. Or atleast notify players about the repairs. Second to last green was vandalized and we were not told that the green had been modified. They just dug a hole in front of the green and that was it. Not worth the money. Lot more nice courses is Myrtle Beach. June 24, 2015
River Oaks Twas a bit warm and greens still healing from aeration but staff was wonderful and we love the golf course.. Will definitely play the course next trip!! June 23, 2015
enjoyable Good place to play. Farways good the greens still were not back after being aerated a few weeks ago. But still ok. June 20, 2015
I now know why rates were lowered! This course has potential, however I feel that because of the recently aerated greens and poorly maintained bunkers it lost some key points. From the back tees it's not too long and manageable off most tees. Occasional burnt out spots on some holes. June 17, 2015
Nice course with an awesome staff Played Bear & Otter while on vacation. It was a great round and the staff was courteous and accommodating. Unfortunately vandals damage one hole the previous evening. A temporary hole was set up and a crew was hard at work repairing the damaged green. June 10, 2015
Going downhill Played there last year and it was ok. This year? Not so much! Greens very spotty. They had punched them but still no grass two weeks later. Fairways were ok but not cut. Pace of play was extremely slow. 4 groups on one hole ! The employees are great. Could use some maintaining! June 9, 2015
Is anyone around? The greeting by the gentlemen that was unloading our bags was lack luster. He did not provide us with any information or point us in the right direction to the club house. We walked in to a very confusing club house/ food stand. No real pro shop at facility just a couple of counters. Inside we bought tokens for the driving range that was a hike away and had to wait 20 minutes to pay for a Gatorade. Once we got started in our round they gave us an extra person in our group to tag along. The pace of play on the front nine was moderate. Once we got to the back nine, Gertrude and the ladies were out for a Sunday round and would not let us play through. The back nine was agonizing and no ranger in sight to help speed things up. The course was in fair condition but If you miss the fairway it was hard to find a lie with any grass. Greens putted true and held most shots. The course didn't seem to have a signature hole and lacked an awe factor. It was a very cookie cutter course that seemed all too familiar . Forgot to mention no beverage cart and hard to find yardage markers.... I unfortunately forgot to bring my gps that day June 8, 2015
Great course for the money I played this course for the first time and only played 9 holes. The pace of play was fantastic and the course was nice but the greens were a little run down. Other than that it was definitely worth playing and will go back again. June 6, 2015
