The 27 beautiful holes of River Oaks Golf Plantation are located on the site of a former nature preserve. Located conveniently just minutes from downtown Myrtle Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, the quiet and seclusion makes it hard to believe that you can be at the beach, Myrtle Beach Airport or some of the best attractions in town such as the Pavilion, Broadway at the Beach or NASCAR Café in less than 5 minutes.

The three nine-hole courses feature recently renovated undulating Champion Ultradwarf greens and tree-lined fairways. Follow Highway 501, over the Intercoastal Waterway Bridge , to a golfer’s sanctuary where mornings are spent chasing birdies and afternoons are spent in search of eagles - River Oaks Golf Plantation.

nice undulating reens course is in good shape greens fast and true enjoyed playing will play again January 23, 2015
River Oaks Play Nice overall course but the sand traps were mostly mud. I'm sure the recent rains played a part. Staff were friendly and helpful and had a nice time. January 19, 2015
River Oaks Golf Course Played the Otter and Fox courses. The layout was fine and fairly consistent with many courses in the area, nothing very special either good or bad.I played the white tees and on good drives had no problem clearing the obligatory fairway bunkers. The fairways were neither exceptionally narrow nor broad. I was surprised at how wet and soggy the course remained. It did not rain the day I played or the day before and other courses I played closer to the heavy rain days had drained better than River Oaks - guess I should have taken a hint from the name. The overhead ramp driving from the Otter to the Fox course is high, steep and requires your full attention. The staff was good. Overall in good weather with time to dry out I would recommend River Oaks. January 18, 2015
MORE WATER Course was very busy which slowed play up. My only negative is that they have 27 holes and I don't know how busy each 9 was but the last 4 groups that I could see were all sent over to the same tee. Like I said I don't know how busy each 9 was but it seemed wrong to have so many going to the same starting hole. January 7, 2015
pleasant typical MB Tom Jackson type layout. Greens putted true at about 9. Place was soaked but not by the greenskeeper every course in the area was WET. First off at 9 am done in 3:20. January 7, 2015
rgagfore I think the quality/ layout of the course is superior to the Wild Dunes Links course (twice the price) November 17, 2014
WET ! No evidence of overseeding, but as others have said, the ground around the greens is like a swamp!! If they did overseed, it is past time for the water to be reduced because balls plug and bury when hit just short or to the side of greens. No run up shots to front pins!!! Otherwise, the layout is fun and in nice shape. Other detraction of overwatering is the unsightly ruts caused by golf carts or maintenance equipment. November 14, 2014
Don't count on any roll. Several wet spots mid fairway and greens. take one club more and clean your ball often. November 12, 2014
