Worth the drive
Great course. Play from the blue markers if you usually play the whites.

Edgewater is a very very nice golf course. It's a cool layout with lots of elevation changes. The staff is beyond friendly. They were all extremely courteous and genuinely pleasant. It's well worth the 40 minute drive from Fort Mill or Charlotte to play it.

This course had a great layout and some fun holes. No development on the course so it's secluded and really gives the feelinig of getting away for a day of golf. A lot of elevated tees it seemed which is always nice.

Had a 2pm tee time and there was 4 foursomes and a twosome waiting at hole 1 to tee off. Yes 18 people!!! I play in and around Clt for 21yrs and have never seen anything like this at any time. I have no problem waiting to tee love golfing, but this was a little too much.

YIKES AND WOW
Great track! Lots of snakes! Careful where you walk even in fairway. Conditions were ok. Very thin carpet onto hard pan as expected from a newer course. Greens furry and very slow. Layout very good as each hole is separated. True championship course. Will be PRIVATE one day.

Hard to Find But Worth the Drive
Edgewater isn't close to anything, really, but is worth your time to get to. The course was in great shape for the most part. There was a stray spot here or there that was a little bare, but as compared to other courses I've played lately, it compares very favorably. Edgewater had the best conditioned tee boxes I've seen in nearly a year. The greens were very lush and actually played much slower than they looked. I'm not a particularly good putter, and I don't think I've ever said this before, but I wished their greens had been a little faster. There are quite a few holes with elevation changes from tee to fairway, so club selection is key. Most of the greens are fairly large and receptive. It was not particularly hot on the day I played. but there were coolers with bottles of water placed every three or four holes, which I thought was a nice touch. I also encountered quite a bit of wildlife on the course: rabbits. wild turkeys, and deer in particular.
Couple of things to note: This is not a walkable course. There is usually long drives between holes. Also, there are areas to the left or right of many of the fairways that are marked as hazards, so you need to pay attention to not ground your club in these areas.
